Vacation/weekend blues...

Thursday---

I get up around 2-3pm, and talk the wife into a weekly "comics/pondo" run to Midland, Mi. We go and I score some STRANGERS IN PARADISE, AMERICAN VIRGIN 1-2, and ARMY OF DARKNESS #5. The wife gets a LOONY TUNES comic. We eat ponderosa and I head to work for the thursday shift.

Work goes pretty smoothly and I finish scanning that line drawing of EARTHGIRL for t-shirts (possibly). I send them to the writer for approval. I finally leave work around 4am, ready as ever for a vacation.

Friday---

Thanks to the wife's stupid class, we had to stay in town till 6pm. that pretty much ruined the chance to leave early and stay in a hotel 2 nights. So, we opt to stay in town for the night and leave early am for Kalamazoo, our vacation spot.

We do go to a late showing of ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN. It was okay. I liked the first one better. After tossing and turning about 4 hours, I finally go to sleep around 4am.

Saturday---

I wake up at 7am, with the wife anxious to get on the road. We do, stopping in Potterville for the slowest mcdonalds in the world (just breakfast this once. WOn't ruin the diet). We make it to Kalamazoo around 10am. We stop at a hotel and book a room. We relax a bit and start shopping. Immediately, we go to FANFARE COMICS, where I score some more art paper and a TRANSMETROPOLITAN graphic novel (only one more to buy and I've finally got em all!). Kelly buys some back issue LOONY TUNES at another comic shop nearby for a $1.00 each.

We head to the mall where the wife buys copious amounts of jewelry and I get a couple new shirts, an 80's mix CD, and finally, that box set of FAMILY GUY action figures. (don't buy it at spencers. ITs $40 there. I found mine for $20 at FYE).

We go back to the hotel after driving around a bit and go swimming. We wade around the 5ft pool for about an hour, waiting for those who are hogging the hot tub to leave, but they don't. So we opt for the steam room instead. We retire back to the room to change clothes and we head to HOOTERS for dinner. Then we drive all over the backwoods looking for the new, and recently relocated DEJA VU stripclub.

Turns out that the place was built into (what looks like) an old Air Conditioner fixing place, in the middle of nowhere in K-zoo. We go in and stay about an hour before leaving. It was dumpy and unimpressive. The sex toy shop next door left even more to be desired! So, we head back to the hotel to watch MAD TV, and conk out around 1am.

Sunday---

We get up and check out of the hotel and head home, vacation over. We eat some breakfast at Subway on the way back. Stop off to use the computer at my work (fast connection, better than home). We go home and clean house. Finally take out the trash and re-arrange all our DVDs and tapes. We have now over 700 DVDs, officially!

After taking out loads of spring cleaned trash, we head to PONDO, where they are having EASTER DINNER BUFFET. I load up on turkey!

Head back home after shopping for a bit and watch COPS till around 11pm. The wife conks out so I check email and net junk, before spending time finishing EARTHGIRL PAGES.

Goals this week: Start Exercise Regimine, Finish Earthgirl art, Start Word Ballooning Earthgirl, Approve HYMNS #3 PRoof in mail, Update Website, Demo 2 new songs I wrote, finish PLEASANT LIFE dialog script, Start researching/thumbnailing for Life #1.
