Coffee and Hookers.

Had a busy week/weekend and this next week will be even more insane. Last week, I spent alot time drawing and getting work done at the newspaper (even staying late each night!). I also did alot of organizing and other various work. So, no time for play!

This weekend was a nice relaxing time for a bit. The wife played in the Mozart Requiem on campus and we went shopping in Midland twice. I got a Kurt Cobain action figure and two ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN trade books. While the wife went out drinking, I spent most of my time at my drawing table, plugging away at Earthgirl 2 and Pleasant Life 3. My progress has been astounding:

PLEASANT LIFE #3-Most of the pages are laid out in pencils, about 60-90% inked and a couple of pages at the end still need to be pencilled. It won't even see print until March-June sometime, so I am indeed ahead. I colored the cover this past week and will upload it soon to the site. I got the Cover to PLEASANT LIFE #4 done was well!

EARTHGIRL 2- After shooting the first four pages to Melody for her approval, I went full speed ahead into my next batch. I am now about 11 pages in. Fully pencilled and about 40-75% inked. Its REALLY looking great. A definate step up from the first one. Not to say the first one was bad, but I have a tendancy of rushing through pencils to get to the inks. And sometimes I skip backgrounds. I've learned to take MORE TIME with my pencils. When I do, I tend to add more details and background goings on. Some of the pages I am doing now take place in a control room on a ship, so thats kind of fun. I also redrew and redesigned the robot bounty hunter guy. Its coming along swimmingly! I hope to have all those pages inked by next monday so I can shoot them to Melody to look at. I think she'll like em.

OTHER - I pencilled and inked two new t-shirt designs that I should have ready in december... just in time for Xmas! Seriously, they are awesome! I've learned alot more about "marketing" and kitchy products for my stuff. These two shirts are "PLEASANT LIFE" oriented and very cool. I also wrote out ALL THE PLEASANT LIFE SCRIPT TREATMENTS!!!! Here's my "what ifs:" IF the series never gets picked up by a major company and I get help printing, I already know how many books there will be in the series and when and how it will end. or IF it DOES get picked up, that story will still happen, but I got room for more things inbetween.

I've said before I have the ending to Pleasant Life already written. The story will always be moving forward to that point. Its farcical and I do fun side things with the characters at times (hense: "THE MIRROR UNIVERSE SAGA"). But I always will be moving the story toward its eventual end. and then, I will be free to work on the next project! (OUTCAST!!! FINALLY!) Seriously, no joke.. I love Outcast. I really, really do. But I decided to focus on finishing what I have to say with PLEASANT LIFE before I attempt to do OUTCAST. So, it will happen once PLEASANT LIFE is over. I tried to see if I could get an artist for it, but it never really came to pass the way I wanted it to. And OUTCAST again, is a personal story so I think it all should come from me. So, thats the story of the delay. It WILL come out. Just after the PLEASANT LIFE ride has come to a complete stop.... which won't be for a while yet!

In other news, I put up my Xmas tree this weekend. It was fun! Check my CHAT FORUM sometime this week to hear my XMAS MEMORIES post. Its kinda sad, but it reveals why I am so into Xmas!!!

I also have MID OHIO CON this coming weekend. We've worked out the detials and hopefully I'll get outta work early friday so I can get on the road! But more on that later. I got a long week of work, turkey, cooking, work, turkey and getting things ready for this weekend's con appearance!

....oh yeah.. and turkey.
