Mother Nature is an orgy whore

Well folks, I'm back in Mt. Pleasant for the weekend. I got paid and cashed my check at a local store and headed up to see my wife. I missed her like hell this past week that we've been apart cause of the move thing. We're happy to see each other right now. I'll head back on monday.

I took in my first full week on the job. LOTS of hard backbreaking labor of moving things around and what not. I'm quite sore. I'm just simply outta shape and not used to actual hard work! But its all a good thing. My body will adjust and I will get used to it. Besides, I don't think there is much more to move around the store. I really like everyone I work with and my boss has definatly earned my respect. They are good people there who have made me feel welcome. I hope that time will show an increase in my pay and more. I am pretty confident that I have nothing to worry about.

This whole week we got a major snowstorm down there. It was hard to deal with. But its calm now. Thats how I was able to make the trip back to Mt. Pleasant for the weekend. I'll grab some more stuff and bring it down with me. The community is nice and friendly. On Tuesday, I locked my keys in my car (like a dope! First time thats ever happened to me!) and I thought I was gonna have to spend my last $40 on a tow truck to come and open it for me! But luckily I was at a grocery store and talked to the manager about it. To my surprise, he was a retured police officer and had a lock kit in his car!! He unlocked for me, free of any charge. Happy to do so. Whew. Just nice people. Know what I mean? In Mt. Pleasant, people would have walked by and laughed at me. Bastards.

Anna Nichole died. I'm over it.

Colts won the superbowl. It was a fun game. I actually started to feel SORRY for the Bears at one point. But yay. It was fun.

I haven't seen too much of Shane, even though we live in the same damn town! He's busy with father stuff, and me job stuff. I've been listening to heavy music again and am thinking about starting some recording again. I'm gonna bring my piano down and start demoing some songs for the next IDIOTHEAD record. That will give me something to do to distract me from being away from my wife. So, yeah... wheels are turning on that one.

On the COMICS front: I got word that Pleasant Life #1 is ready to go at the printers. Maybe in 4 weeks I'll have them. Plenty of time to get them and promote them. I've just been so busy with other stuff, I haven't been too focused on it. I am 6 pages into issue #4 right now and the scripts to #5-6 are done. So, I'm at a good point to stop and get the shit around me in order and move forward. So yeah. Good things.

After one week of the new life, I can say that I am confident that I made the right decision. It sucks being alone for 3 months and paying rent alone. I have no money really. But I'm quite happy. Happier than I was at the newspaper. I miss some of the people, but not the job itself at all. I'd rather be lifting and running around. Back hurting, feet hurting... than do what I was doing for another 5 years. Before I left for Mt. Pleasant last night, I looked out over Lake Michigan and saw the moonlight dance off the waves. That view alone makes this whole endevour worthwhile. It will all work out. Puzzle pieces falling into place. Be patient.

Love you all,

ADAM T.
