Underroos riding up into the crack of society....

Since this my vacation week, I thought I’d give detailed accounts on what I’m doing, where and when. So you all can see a typical vacation week with me. Enjoy.

SATURDAY – I work from midnight to 7am. I ducked out an hour early cause I am not feeling well and I got the hours to spare. The new girl takes over for me and off I go to home, head cold and tired as hell. Final day of work, starting my vacation officially, save for a quick crew meeting tomorrow.

I get home at 7:30 to see Shane setting up podcast recording equipment. We whip out Episode #10 of our IDIOTHEAD PODCAST and talk a bit. I convince him to make a quick run to K-zoo for comics. FANFARE is having an 80% off Back Issues sale. So we head out with the wife. I score some old back issue STAR TREK TNGs for 5¢ each, and the new THE BOYS and WALKING DEAD #41. I nearly fall asleep heading home but I make it, say goodbye to Shane and pass out.

The wife works from 2-11:30, so I sleep till 5pm. I get up and check net shit and watch some STAR TREK TNG 3rd season while I ink WISE INTELLIGENCE pages. I get about 4 inked when TED calls. He wants to come to visit me starting next week Sunday. I am hoping I can convince him to stay for a while and help him get healthy again and get him out of the troubles he’s in. We agree to talk more on Monday. The wife gets home and we talk while she checks email. Then we watch the first disc of our JACKASS box set before passing out.

SUNDAY— I get up at 7:30 after only 4 hours of sleep to head into work for this crew meeting we’re supposed to have. I drove the 16 miles there only to find out that the meeting was cancelled. No one bothered to call me. So I left a real bitchy note about how I was sick (still with my head cold) and very tired and pissed that no one called me to tell me the meeting was cancelled. It just reiterates to me how much that place doesn’t rely on good communication. The place is going down the tubes. Very frustrated there.

I get home still pissed for wasting my gas and time and I watch BOOGIE NIGHTS while the wife gets ready for work. I start to doze off when my dad calls to say they will be driving up from southern Illinois to my place to visit. I wake up around 4pm and watch the JACKASS extras disc and do some internet surfing and watch some Sportscenter. My parents arrive around 7pm and we head to Chili’s to meet the wife there for dinner.

We eat then head home to blow up their air mattress only to find that the pump was broke. So we head back out to Meijer to buy a new air pump and some sodas for them. I stop at Family Video and rent HEROES SEASON 1 Disc one, which I have not seen yet. We hang with them some more watching FAMILY GUY on Adult Swim and they fall asleep to THE APOSTLE via On Demand Cable. The wife passes out in the bedroom to FAMILY GUY, as per usual, while I head to my office to ink another page and watch my HEROES disc.

I got into HEROES. It sucked me right in. I vow to watch the rest of the discs before the end of the week. After watching the first two episodes, shoot emails out and check intertron news, I head for bed, passing out to FAMILY GUY as well.

MONDAY—I get up and shoot the shit with my dad while my step mom sleeps most of the morning. Every now and then I go into the office to check email and look at my progress on my pages. Once she wakes up, we decide to head to the NEON GRILL here in town to try out their burgers. I am sent to pick up the food. Along the way, I drop off the first discs of HEROES and rent discs 2-3. We eat and we all nap till late.

Later the wife heads to work, my parents watch TV movies on On Demand and I start inking other pages I penciled while watching HEROES. I fall asleep around 5am.

TUESDAY—I get up around 1pm to chat with dad and they decide they want to try out the local casino in New Buffalo. I shower and get ready while the wife wakes up. We head there in separate cars and meet up on the floor. I spend maybe $5.00 before walking away with $6.50 in winnings! (my biggest pull yet!) Kelly doesn’t win anything, neither do my parents. We opt to head to the Casino Buffet for some much needed grub. After eating, the wife and I leave and they stay longer to gamble. I stop off at Family Video to rent HEROES discs 4-5.

I check email and Brett has sent me the script for THE EXPENDABLES, a one shot comic project that he is planning on doing. I check net news and download new podcasts. I also attempt to lay down to a nap which doesn’t take. My parents call me around 9 to let them into the building and park their car (our parking lot was being resurfaced and we had to re-park our cars across the block at the bowling alley, a MAJOR inconvenience I must say.) So I get them inside and I park all the cars across the street. We chit-chat inside the house before I go to the office and they lay down to watch TV movies.

The wife wakes up and heads to work. I pencil and ink 2 pages and start inks on another while watching HEROES discs I rented earlier. I pass out around 4am.

WEDNESDAY—I wake up around 8am, my parents are leaving. I get up to walk across the block and get their car and bring it over. I help them pack and deflate the inflatable bed and say our goodbyes. I’ll miss them like hell. They reiterate what a great visit they’ve had and I the same. I watch them drive away after I help load their car. After that, the wife and I take a nap till 4.

I wake up at 4 and go to FYE to sell DVDs for gas $. We get some quick dinner and I go to Family Video (who seems to be getting A LOT of money from me lately!) to rent HEROES discs 6-7. I get home and while the wife sleeps, I finish off the series. Finally, I can talk with my friends about it and listen to podcasts, spoiler-free! The wife wakes up and watches the last episode with me. She heads to work and I get to work in the office.

I read the EXPENDABLES script, which looks like its going be a lot of fun to do. Lots of pop culture references and fun visuals in my head already for it. But I gotta finish WISE INTELLIGENCE 3 first. I spend the rest of the night penciling the last WISE pages and inking what I can in-between.
