Goings on, an announcement and the Ballet of the Impact.

In addition to the "sneak peak" pics I am posting above, I decided to chat a bit of things going on before this busy weekend sucks me in and spits me out a very tired Adam.

So last night the wife and I had our first birthing class. We had to watch two birthing videos. Each time the baby was emerging and the mom held it for the first time, I got teary eyed. I dunno why. Probebly cause I haven't cried in about a year. I need to get a good cry out sometime. I never do let myself do that. Anyway, the wife was giggling during some weird exostential breathing exercise and now we're the class "jokesters." Oh geez. Now people got preconcieved notions about us. Oh well. I only got 4 more weeks to see those people anyway. I'm fine with being a "fun" dad anyway.

I've been thinking more and more about how this child will effect my DAY TO DAY life. Which is fine. but like it or not, the kid will have to like STAR TREK and other nerdy things such as that. I guess its better than bringing a child up in an abusive household. Whats worse, hitting your kid, or making him a nerd? I dunno. I guess I'll have to start giving my wife more black eyes.

Comedy. (insert smiley face emoticon here)

On a random subject: I was thinking about a book I had to read in school called WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS. Ever had to read that? Well, in it, this young boy needs money to buy these two racoon hunting dogs. Since its early 1900's, and he's poor in teh south, he has to do odd jobs. Slave everyday for two years, saving nickles and dimes to get these dogs that cost over $200. Two years. And then he gets them and trains them and hunts alot. Gets coon skins and saves up. So, without ruining anything, in the end, the family takes all the coon skins and sells them, getting enough money to move up to a bigger city and a new life. Well, I got to thinking about it. If I were the kid, I'd be like... "you know what? FUCK YOU DAD! I saved up for 2 years for those dogs. I went out late every night and hunted and got the coons myself. You didn't do shit! So now, we're taking my coon skins and buying a new place? Oh no! Those are MY coon skins! Thats MY money! I'm going to hollywood and getting coke and hookers, so fuck off family! My dogs, my savings, my skins, MY LIFE! Fuck off!"

Just thinking aloud. Anyone else thought that too? Well someone's gotta think of these things. Apparently I've been appointed.

I started to get the 3rd season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA in via netflix. I'm finally catching up. Its just as awesome as I remember it being. Best show on TV.

Also this week, I had something potentially happen to me thats pretty huge. Its not 100% yet. I don't like talking about things unless they are 100%, cause then if they fall flat, I look like a huge douche. Like, "LOOKATME! LOOKATME! I'M KIND OF A BIG DEAL! LISTEN, HUUUUUUUGE ME!" But this is pretty big and I feel pretty justified in talking about it. But I don't want to talk about it too publically. I'll tell you what, if you come to me this weekend at Motor City and ask about it, I'll tell you. I'll even SHOW you. I should hopefully know by next week if its 100%. We're talking huge deal here. Not that I took a shower finally. But huge. Okay, I'll give a hint...

"Jack Kirby."

Thats all yer getting outta me for now.

But my REAL announcement is something that is 100%, and I haven't talked about it at all. I've been invited by tim Fisher and Anthony Harris to co-host THE AMATUER HOUR podcast on Talkshoe.com. Every tuesday night, we will be on the show LIVE chatting about the making of comics and shoptalk from the perspective of the Amatuer. Tim and Anthony run a fun, cool show thats pretty laid back where anyone can ask questions and participate LIVE! So now, I've been invited by the boys and I'm very excited to share my knowledge with those that care to listen. Its my way of giving back to an industry thats been so good to me. Plus, its fun! So you are invited to listen Live starting next Tuesday at 11pm Michigan time. I dunno if thats Eastern or Central or what. I forget. You can download old episodes of this show right now by going to TALKSHOE.com and doing a search for THE AMATUER HOUR. I've been on the last couple episodes. So listen in and get a feel for whats to come. Also, many thanks to my pals Anthony and Tim for inviting me along for the ride. Its gonna be great fun!

I'm gonna try to upload new art to deviantart tonight. Check it out when you can at:
