TUESDAY—
I awake dead tired at 8:30. Hop in the shower and get ready for work. I drag the wife with me as she has to drive the car back since we’re down to one car. She drops me off shortly after 9am and I work all day at the job.
I get home and start inking hardcore. I take a phoner with Tim about tonight’s show and other things. All the while, I’m inking pages. I chat via email with Jay Fosgitt as well.
At 11pm, we start the podcast and its all Robert Kirkman vrs. The world of comics talk. Brooks, Walters, Denham and even Grant Gould join us for 2 hours packed full of ranting, raving and drooling. Chicken soup for the soul. I mostly listen and hop off at one point just to focus on inking, plus I was tired of holding the phone. But always enjoyable to hear them all talk, especially about something they feel passionate about.
Post show, we dick around chatting with each other. Then I hop off around 3am and pass out to South Park.
WEDNESDAY—
I get up and head to work using the wife’s jeep! (My car is getting towed to the shop today). The wife calls around for better quotes to fix our starter and finds a place that says “we are near the hospital.” And they will do it for $100 less. So, she calls the tow truck to get the car there. (to be continued)
Meanwhile, I am at work and having a pretty fun day, until my boss suddenly without no reason turns into mega-bitch. I stood my ground and asked what crawled up into her suddenly, but she still was being harsh to me. I’ll spare you all the details but suffice it to say, it left me saying nothing to her for the rest of my shift. I made sure to let her know I wasn’t happy.
I left at 3pm to head home and get the car from the shop. I sit and talk with the wife a bit about possibly stepping down from management NOW at the job instead of waiting till the baby is born. She says she will support whatever decision I want to make (god I love her!). We go for some Dairy Queen, with The TED in tow. We are still waiting on a call from the mechanic. He calls finally and says it was not the starter, but the BATTERY that needed replaced. So it will be even less than we thought. So we pack up and head to the hospital area to find the auto shop in question. We circle the hospital and general area and cannot find the mechanic. The wife calls them and come to find out, THEY ARE IN A TOWN ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY!!!! Kelly just had our car towed to Niles, a town about 30 miles away for our battery to be changed!
After many laughs the whole way there, we get there (thank god the nice guy stayed past closing for us to make it there) and we paid our bill (with extra mileage tacked on for TOWING! Lol) and headed back for home, stopping off for some wine coolers as we decided to drink tonight.
Kelly on the way back in trips and falls which scares me to death. But she landed on her side and her arm absorbed the impact and she is okay. In the process she broke two of my 4 wine coolers. We opted to head to the pool, but by now it had cooled and I didn’t want to get in. Ted and Kelly swam and I sat at the side of the pool watching. We head back in and I drink some wine coolers. Then we decide to head back to Martins to get a couple more to replace the broken ones, as well as some chips and dip to munch on.
Once home, Ted opts to go across the street to the bar. Kelly and I play Family Guy/Star Trek trivia, while I drink. My drunkenness doesn’t take so we decide to pop in BE KIND, REWIND… which is shit. We go to bed, watching South Park reruns and pass out around 2:30am.
THURSDAY—
Milo the cat woke us up about 100 times during the night, finding small wrappers to chew on. (He’s always waking us up in the rudest way, when he’s hungry!) and I nearly beat his ass. But I get up and head into work. The day before, I typed out my resignation as manager and was going to hand it to my boss today. When I get there, her car is gone. Come to find out, she called in sick. (Probebly scared of me, natch)
So after sitting and thinking about it, I decided to stick the rest of the month out as a manager in favor of higher pay and possible bonus. (definitely will need when baby arrives!) So I spend the day receiving orders and organizing DVDs. I head home around 4.
I spend the majority of the day inking my pages and then I clean the house. I take out the trash, straighten out my office area and bookcase. Also, I try to locate something that the wife says she lost, to no avail. I then update blogs while waiting for her to come home.
She comes home with food and we chow, while I listen in to the BIGFANBOY LIVECAST. I drop off and head to bed next to a sleepy and sore Kelly.
