Well, thanksgiving went well. I cooked dumplings, potatoes, and a juicy ass turkey and ate like a king. My best turn at dumplings yet. I am officially a "pro" at them. I even fixed a plate and took it into a co-worker who had to work thanksgiving all day, missing out on time with her family. She gave my dumplings a full thumbs up. She then told my boss, pissing her off cause she's been begging for me to make her a pot and bring them in for her. Tee hee! We also drew secret santas, so I gotta go shop for someone at work.
We got an email from the president at work sometime a couple weeks ago saying we weren't getting any sort of Xmas bonus. But yesterday in the mail, we all got mailed a gift certificate credit card! I was pretty excited to get a surprise $100! I wasn't gonna get any xmas presents for myself this year, since money is so tight. But I was able to go get comics and give the wife some of it too for an xmas present! Thanks lions Den! Apparently a company that DOES care about their people... its just some of the people don't care about certain people.
Yesterday, I went to get comics. I got the newest Walking Dead, Invincible and Grant Gould's WOLVES OF ODIN. All great reads. I got home to find two packages waiting for me at my door. One was from Tim Fischer, an early Xmas present from my buddy. He got me the first two HELLBOY tradebooks! Apparently tired of me saying that I've never read any Hellboy! Very awesome and thoughtfull of him to do that. I suppose I owe him a handy at Heroes Con in June.
Also, I got a package from Lee at Antarctic Press. Several comp copies of GOLD DIGGER ANNUAL #14, with Tim and I's color pinup in it! They look killer! He also sent me a huge posefile, some other AP books and more. Man, what a day of awesomeness!
Work has been extremely busy and boring. People are moody, despite it being the holidays. Scotty let me get 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Pretty awesome. So I am damn tired today. Last night, I went through a small bout of artist depression. I rarely go through it, but I did. I overcame it too. Tim helped me out with a bit of chat too. Sometimes, even those who are most sure and confident still need to be lifted up one in a while.
Hope you all had a safe holiday weekend. I hope to get very far in my Outcast pencils this week. Wish me luck.
