MOTOR CITY CANCELLATION/Store signing announcement!

This may bum some of you out but lets face it, the economy is bad right now. Corners have to be cut. I've been thinking seriously the past week about dropping one of the conventions I am attending. I already paid for Heroes. Chicago and Pittsburgh are too fun to pass up. I'm going to San Diego for sure. So that leaves one: MOTOR CITY.

As much as it pains me, I think I'm going to cancel this year's appearance at motor city con. Several reasons: Bad Economy/lack of funds, there are no industry folks or publishers there looking to give portfolio or project reviews, its not covered by any major media outlet and therefore very "under the radar," I want to save money and invest it into a nice backdrop for my table-which isn't too feasible without dropping one show, the focus is more on media than comics-making my sales there tight and hard to predict.

These factors plus this: Having a kid is tough work! I mean, I've got a lot of stuff done, but its tough sometimes. There's no guarantee that I can get both books done in time for Motor City. So I may not have much to sell there anyway. Having an extra month for post production would be greatly ideal. I have made alot of cash there thanks to commissions, however my online sales of commissions and book orders are starting to take the place of that. So its not entirely absent. I'm easily accessible.

I am bummed I won't get to go and see the friends and longtime fans of my work there, rest assured that I will return soon. I will be attending the show one day out of the weekend as a fan to see my friends there. If you want to run into me there, email me and we'll make plans.

So, sorry I have to pass on it this year, but for my career and longterm plans, it really is the best decision. Something had to give and it has to be that. I apologize to all who were looking forward to me being there.

However, it make up for it I am hereby announcing that I will be at WONDERWORLD COMICS in Taylor, Michigan for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY - May 2nd to sign copies of my new PLEASANT LIFE trade and also premiere Brett Pinson and I's new comic "EXPENDABLES #2." So for those in the area, please adjust your plans to come there to see me! I'll be doing commissions there and selling original stuff so if you want to score something from me, there's your chance!!! See? Its not all bad eh folks!? ;)

So thanks for listening and make plans to come out to Taylor so I can see you all.

Luvs, T
