It was the best TV show ever. So say we all!
Spoilers abound. WARNING!!!! If you haven't watched BSG's last episode, do not read this.
So last night was the last BSG episode ever. I gotta say, it was one AWESOME episode. I think things wrapped up pretty well. With enough mystery/vagueness and enough room for us to fill in some blanks.
I was surprised they went for the whole "this wasn't in the future, but our past" angle. That Galactica and the fleet really were the start of our civilization here on Earth. My mind drifts to each character after they picked a corner of the Earth and lived out their life. Did they die alone? Did they find love among the fleet or maybe someone primative that was nearby? Waht did they do that would give rise to things in our history such as the Egyptians, Greek and Roman Empires, etc. Or was that all us and they simply stayed out of our way? Who knows. But if they did mingle with the naitives eventually and had children and then generations pass over 150,000 years... and some of those are cylon/human hybrids...then in effect.. WE'RE ALL CYLONS! lol
Its alot of fun to think about it.
But I think it was a very satisfying episode. TONS of action and drama. I might have teared up at a couple parts but I felt that if I did, the wife might have made fun of me. She's the nerd!
My thoughts now are that I wish it were not over. I'd love to just watch Bill, Tigh and the others hang out and live on Earth. Well, at least they will in my head. I cannot wait for the complete series to come out cause when I get a Blueray player, it will be my FIRST purchase. Guaranteed. I want to relive it all again. See things I might have missed. All of it. For now, I got the complete series of the 70's BSG to watch now and dissect. I'll start that probebly this weekend. I need SOMETHING to fill the empty spot!
All in all, a great episode, a great show and I certainly will miss the hell out of it. If anyone out there who hasn't checked out this series, please do so. It is, hands down, the best SCI FI drama TV show ever. Ever. Ever. Ever.
I'm sad. I wish I could go back to 2003 and do it over again. I hate endings.
