HEROES 4

Video of the mountains on the drive home.

MONDAY---

We got up around 7am, and said goodbye to Anthony as he got drove off to the airport. Tim and I set off for the long road home. It seemed to go a bit faster this time and we had lots of good deep conversation. Also a nice new game we invented based on our mutual friend Lee Duhig! Lots of fun. I dropped him off, had a bro-hug and I was off for home. Stopped at White Castle (natch) and finally reached the motherland of the mitten. I arrived around 10pm and got food for me and the wife. The bots was still up so I got to see him for a while. I uploaded pics to facebook and then passed out, dead tired.

All in all, a GREAT con experience. Some thoughts...

1-I got sick saturday-sunday night. Sniffles, fatigue, butt problems, etc. Con funk sucks and it made me not able to go out a couple nights. I felt bad about that, but there will be other times to hang out.

2-I almost teared up twice. Once while saying goodbye to Anthony, and the other during the auction while Mike Weiringo's brother was talking about him and they were passing out the first Ringo Scholarship award. An emotional weekend sometimes.

3-It was great to finally meet the podcast folk in person. Lots of people stopped by as well.

4-People down in North Carolina are super nice people. If it weren't for the damn humidity, I'd consider moving.

5-After tim and I had a long talk, I realized that I do have some personal work to achieve. I want to clean up my style and find a place where I am comfortable. Plus, I want to work through my weaknesses and get to a place where they are not an issue anymore. I want to clean up my art as well as my health. I felt pretty self conscious about my weight this weekend. I was inspired by this artist who told me he lost 180 pounds and it improved his artwork as well. So I intend starting today to effect tons of changes in my life. Both healthy and professionally.

So, lots to think about and work on post show. Rest assured, I had a damn great time and will definetly be back next year!
