I can't believe it. In 9 days, I'll be on a plane headed for California.
That's tough to swallow for me, because I've never traveled that far! (Hell, being on a plane as an adult is something I've never done!) What a wonderful perk to being in comics man. As a kid, I only dreamed of going to these places that sounded so distant and exotic. And now, its a reality. I'm going to California. and not just that, but to the BIGGEST COMIC CON IN THE FRIGGIN' WORLD! I'm in awe. Total awe at the opportunities that my work has allowed me to have.
Of course, I am going not as an exhibitor, but an observer. One that is prepared to have his mind blown and come home so fueled and ready to evolve to the next level. I feel I've been skirting that for some time. I just need one thing to blow it wide open. This may be it. I can feel it.
In the meantime, I've been SLOWING DOWN my artwork and really working things out. Like, I'm doing a wonder woman piece right now and been working on it four days, instead of two hours. Really working out kinks till I am happy with what I see. Its tough, but I am rehibilitating myself from my bad habits. I hope to share my progress with all of you soon. I've also been working on commissions from regular customers. Its great to know that I have that gift of regular lovers of my work. Its something I worked hard to get.
Okay, babbling and gushing. Point is: Alot of cool shit is coming up and I cannot wait to swim to deep waters in it. I'm ready to get blown away by it all and fill my artistic tanks to the brim and over. After the last 6 years promising myself that I would go to San Diego and each time, it fizzling out, this year is the year it happens. Finally.
YAY
