Just got in and man am I tired. Tired of being in the car, thats for damn sure! Well, the vacation was a success. We drove to Southern Illinois and visited my folks for a couple nights. We talked, showed off the bots, did a bit of shopping and eating. Enjoyed some White Castle to and fro, always a tradition of the trip to the folks.
Something cool there too. My aunt bought an old movie theater in town and her and her hubby are fixing it all up in the dream to open it as a theater for town. They called upon my expertese to help them figure out how to run the projector. So for the first time in over 8 years, I got to get my hands into a projector, thread it and start it up once again. At first I was lost, but then slowly it came back to me. It was like riding a bike. And man I had a smile on my face for the rest of the night. Reminded me of the good ol' days, working at the cinema in Mt. Pleasant. In a way, I am envious of the fact that they get to do that. They said if I lived in town, I totally would be a part of it. Too bad, I guess. Oh well. It was great to do it once again. Perhaps the last time? Who knows what the future brings.
Anyway, after a long 7 hour trip home, we arrived safe and sound. We stopped off at Best Buy and I scored the new U2: UNFORGETTABLE FIRE remastered CD, natch. Couldn't find the new Monty Python documentary though. No clue whats going on with that. Will try tomorrow. For now, sleep and relaxing.
Tomorrow I will venture out and get grocieries, work on laundry, clean house and work on some work I gotta get done.
In other news, that Michael Jackson THIS IS IT film is in theaters now. I wish I could go see it. Probebly wait till DVD though. I am excited to see it though.
Cheers, T
