Was just thinking about this:
My sense of time is all screwed up probebly because of my parents. It was very late that I ever got to see or do anything. Example:
Most of my friends are older and recall seeing films like STAR WARS in the movie theater. I was born in 1978, one year after the first film was released. So I never saw it (nor any of the original trilogy) in the theater.
My first Christmas that I recall celebrating (with a tree and everything) was in 1985. My brother's present to me was THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK on Betamax. Of course, videos to buy like that in the store weren't as prevalant as they are now. So it must have been some sort of special holiday release. But my perception of that means that I thought the film was made around 1983-84. It was released in 1980! And same thing with JEDI. I first saw that on Betamax the day it was released in 1986. It came out in 1983. So I saw these movies 3-5 years AFTER the rest of the world saw them. So perhaps thats why I am always behind on things. And my concept of time is all fucked up. Things I did last week seem like a year ago. And things I did 15 years ago seem like yesterday.
I'll also note with this that my parents never really took me to the movie theaters as a kid, so I never saw these films in the theater, except for the Special Editions in the 90's I saw myself. So what the frick, mom and dad? What the frick??? lol
And I had this thought yesterday. I was passing a local school playing their friday night football game, and I thought "I should go and attend a Beal City game! Just like the old days! I'll run into so and so, it will be a blast!" I graduated high school in 1996. That means, that the people who are SENIORS now, wouldn't have even been in PRE-SCHOOL when I was graduating from there. Can you wrap your head around that? WASN'T EVEN IN SCHOOL WHEN I GRADUATED?!?!?!?!!? and that seems like fuckin' yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, gonna go hang myself now.
