Going to see TRANSATLANTIC!

Remember a couple months back how stoked I was to learn of a new TRANSATLANTIC album coming out? Well, I got it and loved it. and now to learn that TRANSATLANTIC are doing a tour to support it and it will be near my neck of the woods, Awesome!!!!!!!

See, Transatlantic is a progressive Rock supergroup with members from various different busy prog rock bands from across the globe. So to get all their schedules together to do a massive tour is an undertaking. Plus, progressive rock doesn't get as much attention in the states as they do in places like Europe and Japan. So for them to do alot of US dates is a thrill. So I found out they were playing in chicago but I had no one to go with. I contacted my buddy Tim and he was down. So we scored tickets and we're going!

This will be my first concert in a long damn time. I used to see concerts all the time. From The Ramones, White Zombie, Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, Tool, Roger Waters, Queensryche, Stone Temple Pilots (x2), Korn/Rob Zombie, PJ Harvey, U2, Cheap Trick and others. My last venue concert was Bob Dylan back in 2001. I saw MEATLOAF at the casino, but thats a casino show. I saw Neal Morse (also of Transatlantic) in a local church twice. So this will be my official first venue type show in a while.
Also, the rumors of Roger Waters touring next year and he's performing THE WALL in its entirety, complete with stage show 1980-1981 reinactment..... I am definately going to that, as it will probably be among his last tours ever. And THE WALL is my favorite album of all time! Must see.

Anyway, the Transatlantic show is called "An Evening with," Indicating it will be over tour hours of a show. I expect 1/2 older songs and 1/2 the WHIRLWIND album in its entirety. Most likely anyway.

So, excitement on the horizon. The concert is April 20th next year, the same week as Pittsburgh Con. So it will be a busy and exciting week for me!

Cheersm T
