I am now officially a review writer for BIGFANBOY.com!
BIGFANBOY.com is run by Mark Walters, who runs the Dallas Comic Con and the Star Wars Fan Days shows in the Dallas area. He runs BIGFANBOY.com as a side passion. He's done many interviews from people like Bruce Willis, Jerry Seinfeld, Mark Hamill, William Shatner, etc. Pretty much everyone you can think of in the nerd time industry. He's recently celebrated his fifth year of the site and podcast and done a huge revamp and asked me if I wanted to be a contributor to the site. I happily accepted.
For those that have followed my work on idiothead.com for a long time, you know that I love to do music and movie reviews. Both new and old. Also you know I love picking the brains of fellow artists and creators such as myself. All of this, I am taking over to Bigfanboy.com and making that exclusive content for that site. This is what I will be doing there:
1-I will be writing RETRO REVIEWS, movies from the dawn of movies to yesterday. But mostly leaving the big new releases to Mark himself. I hope to spark some interest in old classics that perhaps you overlooked or haven't revisited in a long time. I also plan to deconstruct the crap out of movies I wasn't such a fan of.
2-I will not be ranting in my reviews there. I will maintain a professional level of criticism and dissection of the product at hand. No swearing. (awwwww lol Don't worry. I still got my blog for swearing! "FUCK." see?)
3-I will be doing Q&A's with some of my favorite comic book professionals and up and comers from all over the industry. Just today, I interviewed three of my favorite artists, and I gotta say, I am extremely stoked to share the results when I post them to the site! I get exclusive one on one sit downs with some of my heroes and thats a hell of an opportunity to pick some brains!
So, I am uber-excited to do some fun work and expand my writing for this side-gig of working on bigfanboy.com. If you haven't checked out that site yet, please do. Its a great place to get your up to date info on movies and pop culture by folks who genuinely care about the truth!
Many, many thanks to Mark Walters for allowing this huge fanboy the opportunity to work with and on his site. This has been brewing for a while and I am excited to see where it leads. I promise not to screw it up too bad.
Right now, I got some reviews up under HOME VIDEOS. Including: MITCHELL, OVER THE TOP and MAXIM XUL!!!!!! Read em!
