Odd days.

Had a couple odd days recently. or OFF days I should say. Ever have a stretch of days where things you touch seem to break or die on you? Ever want some things to work out so you can get from point A to B to C in an easy fashion? Well, natch, that didn't work out this week either so far!

I got an odd set of days coming up too. I work at the day job and then off. Work and then off. Different times and things. Hopefully I can keep on top of schedule and keep the artwork caught up!

But I don't sweat it. After about ten minutes of careful and calm breathing, it returns to normal and so do I. Very happy when I do return to my new normal headspace. Sometimes I forget myself (cue ending to "Karma Police" by Radiohead). But seriously folks. I be fine. Better than ever in fact. Just keepin my head up and breathin' baby. Oh yes.

But to be honest, I could use a nice vacation. Get away. Or lay around for three days straight watching Trek or Doctor Who. Just total "ME" time. Instead of me finding myself new little projects to do. For example, a pal of mine sent me his DVD recorder. So I have been taking the time this week to tape some of my old VHS tapes to DVD. I got a ton of home movies that I am glad to have in an updated format. On one of the tapes was the only footage I have of my mother. I was so emotional at the fact that I only had like 4 minutes of it. I wanted so much more. But so it goes. Cannot go back and record it. But I am glad I have it.

Okay, rambling thoughts of a blog. Lets go to day by day play:

Sunday:

I wake up and spend time with the bots. Clean house a bit with podcasts in my ear. Do some slight doodling at the table before the wife comes home. I was gonna go out to an art supply store I just heard of in East Lansing, but it is snowing hardcore outside by this point. The wife is very sick so I tend to her needs and let her sleep on the couch and I mess about in my office, keeping an eye on the kid. Around 7:00, I head to the day job and work until 1:30. We get to close early thanks to the snow. But not before my co-worker confirms to me that indeed, the strip club is haunted. He also reinterates the same stories I was told by others. So I am weirded out for the rest of the night. So then I drive through the thickest amount of snow ever conceived by the universe to get home around 2am. I don't even bother to check email and just pass out next to the sick wife, tired as fuck.

Monday:

I get up, check email and clean office up a bit. The kid is enjoying a Scooby Doo marathon on DVD. We also bother to watch some newer Family Guy shows on Fox.com, one of which has me practically falling out of my chair with laughter at one point. I do 25 minutes on the treadmill before the wife heads to work. The kid passes out around 7pm and then I start inking commissions that are overdue. I finish them, snap photos to send to the guy by the time the wife gets home. Its snowing again outside. Not nearly as thick as this sunday but as equally annoying. I was trying to stay up till 2-4am working but the wife talked me into bed and we pass out watching AVGN Dvds.

Tuesday:

Wake up. Get the bots some cereal and the commission client from last night has already ordered more. I set up payment with him and check email, FB and Twitter. Update blogs, and straighten up office. Then I am a good kitchen bitch and clean the kitchen and living room. I set up a plan for our income tax check that is due to arrive this week. And then I hit the post office and head out of town for a while and return to shop a bit and enjoy Logans with the family. I get back in time to help run the Sabo Podcast and then drop off at 3am, dead tired. I pass out to AVGN.

Wednesday:

Wake up but the wife so graciously lets me sleep in. YAY WIFE! I got an email saying that the ANNA POCALYPSE tradebooks are on their way and should arrive in a few days! I toss out emails and take the family to Wendys (where I eat a chili and baked potato with water) and Krogers. The wife heads to work while I set up a dvd recorder that my pal Lee sent to me. I start burning some old VHS tapes I have to DVD. The bots and I play in the bedroom until he goes to bed. By that time, I am on to a collection of home movies to burn. Among the footage was footage of my mom. The only video footage of her to possibly exist. I ball like a baby for a while cause its so hard to sit through. Then the wife comes home and we finish off the home movies and me taping a VHS of "IRON CHEF JAPAN" til around midnight. Then we pass out to AVGN.
