Last night I took a break and headed to Alma to see my oldest brother play Peter Criss in his KISS tribute band. Here's some photos from my phone...

The Gene Simmons dude was very faithful and great acting. His costume I think was the best/most authentic. Although all looked great. Gene did the fire spray during FIREHOUSE and did the blood spitting as well. All the guys played their parts great.

My brother at his kit. I didn't get to ask which kit this was, he was so busy. Some other time. The sign behind him he made himself. Its very faithful recreation isn't it? I think this is the third one he and his wife have made for this sort of thing.

Him singing BETH. Tossing out roses to the girlies in the room.
I think this is the third or fourth time I've seen one of his KISS tribute shows and of all of them, I'd say this one was the best I think. He got the best Gene, Paul and Ace players that I've ever seen him play with. They stayed in character the whole time and it was like seeing the real deal from the 70's. He should be proud of that. I blew my left eardrum out at the show. Not cause of the band but the wife had to talk over the loudness into my ear and at one point got so loud that it hurt me pretty bad. It seems okay now this morning. But still... gettin' old I think!
I'm proud of my bro. My relationship with my siblings is an odd one because they were pretty much grown up and gone when I entered the picture. But of my childhood I recall them fixing cars and jamming out to records like KISS, RUSH, OZZY, ACCEPT and other bands of that era. I think it laid seeds in my head to like that kind of music. And my brother and I share the love of music and playing music for fun. He's done it in official capacities and I think he loves doing it for fun. Its why I've done it in the past. I never had rockstar dreams. Maybe in high school. But my voice and time is too limiting to dedicate my life to that. My baby is art!! (as you all well know!) So I have them to thank for that aspect of my life. If I had the time and energy, I would form my own Pink Floyd tribute band. I'm glad he gets to do what he loves. Its greatness. And thanks for the night out! And it was great to see my family there as well. I promise it won't be as long between seeing each other next time. Much love to ya!
In other news, I told ya I am busy with commissions. I got some more overnight as well, meaning I am gonna be busy all day today! He're a quick DONNA TROY I did. I decided to digitally color it and make it a print as well for DALLAS. Two birds with one stone.

I still plan on making a nice Spock and Baroness print for the DALLAS show as well. Got tickets to that yet? VIP is sold out. You can pre-order photos with Stan Lee and Leonard Nimoy. Get info on the show HERE -- Plan on going. It may be my only convention appearance for the year. I just reordered ANNA and PLEASANT LIFE trades for the show as I am running low! Make plans to go now!
Anyway, I'm gonna score some breakfast and get to work on the pile o' stuff I gotta get rockin' on today. (throws up the horns) Cheers folks!
