David Gilmour joined Roger Waters for a performance of "Comfortably Numb" on his THE WALL tour. And thats not all. At the end of the show, all come out for a performance of "Outside the Wall." And David returns, with someone else...

Yes, Floyd drummer Nick Mason as well! Effectively all surviving members of Pink Floyd reunited for one quick minute. As a longtime Floyd fan, this was a deeply cool moment. Videos and pics are all over the damn place. Check out my favorite Floyd news sites for more: PINK FLOYDZ and BRAIN DAMAGE ... I hope there were high def recordings done of this show and will be on the eventual THE WALL LIVE DVD. I hope. Cross your fingers!

In other cool news, they announced this cool box set coming out on Blu-ray:

Citizen Kane, one of my favorite movies ever. It will be packaged with the awesome documentary "The Battle over Citizen Kane" and the great biopic "RKO 281." Definite must buys!!! But thats not all. You also get Orson Welles' film "The Magnificent Ambersons." Not his cut, but still, his movie. Also included is a booklet, lobby cards and more.
See folks?!!?!? Now THIS is what I want in my collection. If you want us hardcore film and music fans to continue to love and own physical collections of the works, make the releases worthwhile! I like where this is going. Granted I got rid of alot of my CDs and DVDs. But I kept all my box sets or Cds that had DVDs with them. Cause thats what I want! I want a total immersive package. And I am glad to see some of the things I love getting this. Speaking of which, an AWESOME Kubrick Box Set is coming out at the end of this month. MUST HAVE!!!!
Lastly, today I splurged and got this:

I always wanted the Snowspeeder toy as a kid and never got it. I saw it at Target today and had to have it. It was suprisingly cheap! Its a really cool toy too. I got it for me to enjoy a bit, but I know that the bots will inherit it one day. I'm fine with that. I opened it up, but it together and placed the stickers on it. ZOOM ZOOM! I'm a kid again! Now I need to get the AT AT. And I will!
I got a box full of Star Wars figures in the box waiting for bots to open when he's old enough. I'm just waiting for the day that he starts talking regularly and we can watch Star Wars and I can see him enjoy it. Then one day when he's old enough, I'm gonna bust out that box and he's gonna lose his shit. I cannot wait for that! Its gonna be so awesome. Oh, the adventures he will have.
Maybe, thats the magic of movies man. Screw hating on it and saying 10,000 times how much the prequels sucked and all that. Just sit back and enjoy the movies. Tap into being a kid again. Remember the experience. Oh yes. Drop being a sarcastic "here's whats wrong with this and how I would fix it even though I will never be in a position to ever" attitude. Just gonna accept things and enjoy it for what it is. Like being a kid. Makes me smile.
:)
