Well, as expected the Lions lost last night and are out of the playoffs. Although there are arguements about blown calls and all that, the fact remains. I don't think they or their fans can despair though. They've shown this year finally what they are capable of. I think if they can just tone down their attitude, get their running game rocking and everyone stay healthy, then next year will be theirs! I'm very appreciative of a great and exciting season. Next year I hope to go to another live game. Didn't happen this year unfortunately. Next year, next year.
I've watched football since I was wee. My mom was a big Steelers fan. And in High School I played for half a year of my freshman year. They wanted me to play the next year and I declined. That year they won the state championship. Great. :) But I always watched the Lions back when Barry Sanders and Herman Moore was on the team. Somewhere around the late 90's to mid 2000's, I stopped paying attention to it. But I always caught the Superbowl. But around 2008-2009, I jumped back into it, heavier than before. I am the least "manly" guy I know. But somehow around football season, I get all grunty and pumped up full of testosterone. Just something about the game that gets me going. And I get real upset at people who just sit and hate on football. I say let people like what they like.
Anyway all this said, Who do I have left to root for in this post season? Well, I am definitely not a Packers or Broncos guy. I think that Tim Tebow is over rated. So right now I am looking at the Steelers, Saints, Falcons, Ravens. I like the 49ers, but not their coach. Even the Patriots I don't mind. So basically, anyone but the Packers or Broncos! It will be an interesting post-season. I'm gonna try to watch every game. Its a long way till September for when I get more football!
During the game I got 8 more Marvel cards done. I took an early night cause of stomach aches. I will be working late tonight I think. I've watched a few movies this last week. YOUR HIGHNESS, which was ok, but not worth owning. FRIGHT NIGHT (remake) which was surprisingly good. Real good in fact. THOR, which was good. TUCKER AND DALE vs EVIL, which was fun. GREEN LANTERN, which was okay. Not worth owning. THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2009 version), which was good but too disturbing in some parts. I watched an excellent documentary called 6 DAYS TILL AIR about the South Park animation process. Gonna see what other newer movies I can watch this week as well. I like me watching newer movies. Feels good.
The wife and I got some money coming in so we are gonna pay off a couple of cards for good and then look into getting stuff for the house and me a B-day present. I've thought about a tattoo, but I wanna wait on that. I definitely want a fish tank with some nice fish, but I don't know about right now. So my last choice would be to go to Barnes and Noble or some comic shop and get some Invincible trade books and other books I keep wanting but never get. Or Amazon.com for the same. hmmmnnn...
Okay, lots to do today. Off to work! (The REAL job)
