Things I'm Surprised I am into.

I am a huge sci fi/horror nerd. I love classic and (some) new cinema. I am an absolute music nut! I like indie comic books. That is me in a nutshell. But there are other things about me that might surprise you that I love if you found out. Lets examine them for the fun of it.

--BOXING - I love watching a good fight. I watched it back in the day, Back when Tyson was kicking ass. I still love catching a retro fight here and there. Although I don't watch much modern boxing. I actually am interested in watching the UFC. I've caught a couple here and there and its pretty good. But every now and then I will search for great knockouts or WBC fights on youtube.

--FOOTBALL - Anyone who follows my twitter knows I love football. I used to watch the Steelers and 49rs with my mom. I was a big Joe Montana fan. Then in the 90's I switched to the Lions and the Browns. I love underdog teams! Barry Sanders was the fucking man! I had a huge door size poster of him in my first apartment. Somewhere around 1999 I stopped watching football for a few years and only caught Superbowls. But around 2007 or so, I started back into it. Then around 2009 I was WAY into it. Like a step below doing fantasy football. I went to my first game in 2010. I would love to get season tickets to the Lions. I got a good feeling about them next year.

Despite my love of Football, I never got into college ball. The whole time I went to Central Michigan, I didn't go to one single game. Now that I live near MSU, its unavoidable to not be into it somewhat. Truthfully, I don't get into the rivalries. I like any team from Michigan really. So when my pals get all MSU sucks, UofM rules, I don't really care. I just want a good game. and MSU had some great games this last year. I think I will try to check out a couple of the games live this next year.

--BASKETBALL - NBA. I used to be WAY into it. I had tons of the basketball cards. I watched pretty religiously from 1988-1997. The BULLS were my team. Never went to a game, but watched tons of them. I was there for each game of the first three championships in a row. Scottie Pippen was my fav. player. But Jordan... holy crap! The dude was a dream. I was at Heroes Con a couple years ago and he was hanging out in our Hotel lobby! I wanted to go up and meet him, but what would I say really? It was cool to see the man in person though. Thats one tall dude!

--CLASSIC WRESTLING - I watched WWF quite religiously from 1988-2000. So I was there for the Wrestlemania heyday and all those classic wrestlers. And when Hulk Hogan joined WCW and the decline of WCW. Then I dropped off. I've tried here and there to check it out but the storylines are too crazy for me now. I still watch my classic wrestling collections on DVD.

--MODEL KITS - Of course I put together tons of Trek related model kits. Some cars here and there. I honestly am not that good at it. I am impatient and my hand shakes too much during painting. Decals? Rip em all the time. But still, I like doing it. Its relaxing.

--TRIVIAL PURSUIT - I love trivia board games!

--COOKING - I love to cook. I like trying new recipes out. I don't watch a whole lot of cooking shows, but I love the classic Iron Chef! I could watch it all day.

--INTERIOR DECORATING - This is something kind of new to me. I am really interested in color themes and decorating a room in a home. Also landscaping. Making a home beautiful. Hopefully one day I will live in a place where I feel worthy of putting forth a huge effort to design its layout and look further than just putting things in places where it fits.

--EGYPTOLOGY - Love it. I minored in Art History, Egyptian, Greek and Roman. I love all that stuff. I know a lot about it but never really talk about it.

--SEA LIFE - I love fish. I love coral. I love watching Animal Planet or HD nature shows. Especially ones about ocean life. Stuff I will likely never see but I coexist with.

Okay, this is all I can think of right now. Maybe more later.
