Things to Come...

Hey friends, welcome back!

Next weekend I will be in Cincinnati for my first HORRORHOUND Convention. I'm really looking forward to going and hanging with my pals. Should be some legendary, scary, drunken fun. If you are in the Cincinnati area that weekend, find me and hit me up. I'll have tons of booze, as per usual.

The snow is melting and its in the 60's here in Michigan. Makes me feel like doing some major spring cleaning! I have to anyway because I have to move apartments again in August. Hoping to find something in Lansing or East Lansing area, rather than Grand Ledge. I have to help box up Misty's stuff for her to move to Detroit and I need to go through my stuff too. I need to find a nice one bedroom place for me and room for when the kids come to visit. I liked the first apartment I had over there last year. Hoping I can get it back or at least in the same building and bottom floor. Fingers crossed.

My day job's overtime is starting to slow down and that means my finances will take a hit. I'll still have my bills paid but I won't get to save as much as I would like to. Plus I will have to get some new furnishings for my new apartment in August. I'm getting wine tastes with beer money! I considered getting a part time Mon-Friday job early in the day, but it really wouldn't be worth it unless I can find something more office related and above minimum wage. What I keep telling myself is that I need to keep focusing on the freelance work. I sort of put that on the back burner lately but I can certainly increase it again if I want to. That would be preferable over getting a job I'd hate.

I mainly do this because I want to keep saving scratch for my future. I have long term goals I want to hit and the money would help that come even sooner. Now that I'm a one man show again, I need to be mindful of what I'm spending and what I'm bringing in. Just to be constantly safe.

Its with that in mind that I decided to cancel my appearance at S.P.A.C.E. Con. Also that weekend I have to visit with my dad. Been too long for that. So something had to give. My weekends are always jam packed with either a show, work or the kids. SPACE Con sounded extremely promising but its still a financial risk. So I decided to put it off until maybe next year to where I can come with my A game. I will still be at Motor City Comic Con in May. I'd really love to clear out my prints there that weekend. So I'm sticking with that show for sure.

The fear of the freelancer. I'll never be able to escape it! But hey, its a life. And its worth living.

I have been listening to the new ANTHRAX album: FOR ALL KINGS. Its in heavy rotation for me right now. Man is it killer! I traded some records in and got some gems. DAVID GILMOUR's ON AN ISLAND,  NIRVANA LIVE BOOTLEG 1993 and GREEN DAY: INSOMNIAC (original pressing from 1995!). Should make my summer around here a loud one!

I'm actually kind of anxious to move. Ready for change and getting the show on the road. I can't get comfortable knowing that change is coming. But at least I will have time to prepare for it. Plenty of time! I just hope the spring and summer don't roll by too fast!

Anyway, that's the catch up for ya. Hopefully next time I'll have more updates for STARSLAM 2 and more. (ALMOST DONE!!!)
