Boom, Baby!

3-28-12

I wake up at 6:58 to get the bots up for school. I get him on the bus and I am back to bed by 7:45. I wake back up around 11:40, the wife sleeping next to me. We decide to get up and take care of business around town. We get dressed, get the bots off the bus and head to take care of business. I head to the post office to drop off stuff won to people from ebay. We hit Logans for lunch. Run home to crap right quick and then back out to Kroger for the bots some yogurt. (he eats about six of those a day. No lie) The wife stays up a bit and I download the new Walking Dead and Echo Trades on comixology. There’s an error at first with my Echo trade but it is corrected by comixology quite swiftly (thanks!). I sit and read the new comics and the wife goes to bed. Bots and I watch some Family Guy and then some Star Trek as I lounge around a bit, resting up. He finally passes out around 9:00 and I clean up his messes. The wife wakes up and heads to work and I get some emails about the contracts for a new card set I am on. I watch some older horror reviews on cinemassacre.com and then make a list of blurays I want and movies I haven’t seen (so I can rent them later). Its midnight and I curl up on the couch with a movie. Free Enterprise, a movie I haven’t seen in a few years. Its over and I toss and turn for a half hour. I pass out around 3am.

3-29-12

I wake up at 6:59 and get the bots up. I get him onto the bus and I am back to sleep by 7:35. I wake back up at 11:50 and convince the sleeping wife to go get some lunch and take care of some shit. We get up and go to Five Guys after getting the kid off the bus. We get some quarters for laundry and we get back home. I sort the laundry and start doing loads. I scan and send over my contracts for the new Card set, thus making it “official” that I am on the set! 200 cards will be quite the challenge!! I sort out some reference for the gig to come and plan on working on other cards later in the night. The wife and I decide to sell our digital cameras because we never use them. I spend some time cleaning them off on my computer and watching old videos that I recorded but forgot I had! After both cameras are cleaned off, I take the bots to the disc place and he gets Empire Strikes Back. I get a used copy of Pulp Fiction for $5 and the change from us selling our cameras we no longer use there. I open up bots’ school bag to find his school pics are back! However they took off the hoodie I put on him that day and his shirt underneath is quite embarrassing. It says “that’s what she said.” I’m sure the teachers were scratching their heads as to why I had him in that shirt for picture day! Long story. I continue doing laundry and cleaning the house a bit until the bots passes out around 9:20. I finish off the Walking Dead cards and get them scanned in and to the editor by the time the Bigfanboy Livecast starts. While listening I pencil three new Mars Attacks cards and ink them up a bit. The show ends and I head to bed around 2:20am.

3-30-12
I Wake up at 7:30 to the bots kicking at his door. I get up and let him play in the room with me while I try to nap a bit. The wife comes home and lets me get an extra 45 minutes in before I have to get up to go to work. She begs me to call in, but me being the guilty responsible adult I am turn her down and promise her a full day of sleep tomorrow. I head into work and work a 10-6 shift. My manager lets me go an hour early so I can attempt to make it up to the wife and her sleep. Luckily she’s almost off of overnights. It’s a hell week for our entire house. Anyway, I grab food for all of us and head home. I call my son Cody back and he says they are not going anywhere for spring break after all and he can come to my place. Unfortunately, I hadn’t counted on him coming, so I hadn’t planned ahead. We sent money to bills and as a result were now flat broke. However I said give me some time on it and I would see what I could scrounge up. After getting home and coming up with a plan, I call him back and make plans for a Sunday-Tuesday visit. The wife heads to bed and I keep the bots occupied until he passes out around 9pm. I watch “From Dusk Till Dawn on Netflix (Again, my Tarantino kick!) and then start drawing on Mars Attacks cards. The wife wakes up and I say bye to her as she heads to work. I finish inking the cards and then lay down reading a book. I pass out around 2am.

3-31-12

The bots kicks the door at 7:15 and I get up and round up his goods. I lay down on the couch to catch a bit more sleep while we both watch some cartoons. The wife comes home and I barricade her in so she can sleep. I get up and play with bots and we decide to go out. We head to Target and cash in a 50% off any Star Wars toy coupon. Bots chooses a Clone Troopers blaster. I want to go back and get one of the better lightsabers, but it will have to wait. We head to Kroger to get groceries for Cody visiting tomorrow and bots about 10 yogurts (which will be gone in one day, for sure). Then I get him some lunch and we head back. I put away groceries and check email and update blog. I realize the house is a sty and put in an hour of deep cleaning on it. Then look at pics of dream houses and cool interior designing. The wife wakes up around 5:30 and I curl up on the couch. Two hours later, I wake up and her and the bots are passed out. Panicking, I move the kid to his own bed and hope that he ends up sleeping through the night, as I got a long day ahead of me tomorrow. I update the blog and check online shit then dive into some Mars Attacks cards while watching “MARS ATTACKS” for the first time. Its good fun and I get a few nice cards penciled and inked. I am trying not to rush to colors till I get a good chunk of the cards inked and dry. I really want to take my time with these cards and make them good. The wife leaves for work and I text with Cody’s mom to finalize arrangements. Unfortunately their car needs repair and they thought I meant NEXT weekend, so plans are scrapped. We promise to perhaps make something happen in a week or two. Its better off then anyway because we are pretty low on funds anyway. I continue working on cards till about 2am and then I crash for the night.

4-1-12

I wake up around 7:40 to the bots again and try to catch some more ZZs on the couch. The wife comes home and I drift in and out of sleep, between talking to her, watching the bots and various other things going on. But I do manage to sleep till around 11:20. I get up and head to work for a 12-7 shift. I get there early and attempt a April Fool’s gag on my assistant manager to where I say I got into an accident and cannot come in. Unfortuantly, she is staring at the cameras and can see me in my car, even though I parked away from my normal place. Defeated, I go in and proceed to have the most long, dragged out shift imaginable. I had literally only TWO people to ring up all day. I beg to go home an hour early, and end up going home an hour and a half early.
It’s the wife’s last night on overnights and I wanted to surprise her. I get outside our place and text her that I gotta stay late because a co-worker is running behind. I get no answer. So I go inside and hear bots crying hard. She was dealing with that, so she never looked at her phone to see my joke text. So once again, April Fools Joke thwarted, I go inside. Bots is being moody so I take him out so the wife can get what little sleep she can. I take him to lunch, get ice cream and some rental discs from Family Video. We get home and I try to keep him occupied till around 9pm, his bedtime.
I sit with him a while and he passes out around 9:40, all while I am chatting with my friend Matt about the coming weekend’s festivities. I decide to take the night off from drawing and watch dvds instead. I end up watching the extras on Star Trek V-VI’s dvds before passing out around 1:30 am.
