Catching Up

Boy have I been non-stop with activity lately. And since I am up early this morning, why not take a minute to catch up with me and whats new?

--I've been working non-stop on cards. I just finished the Sherlock Holmes set for Cult-Stuff and it was great fun to do. Its been a damn long time since I've read any Holmes stories and it was great to revisit them. This set was based on the first few stories with the great detective. We have to give thanks to renewed interest in Holmes based upon the new BBC series "Sherlock." (Seriously, check it out, its great!) I love a good murder mystery and Holmes certainly dealt with that. I did close to 50 cards on the set, so look for them! I'll post links when and where you can order a box of the cards and hopefully you can pull one of mine! I also got a box of cards here that I am starting work on this week and its a MAJOR undertaking and a MAJOR set! Its with a company whom I trust and love working with as we've done work with in the past and its drawing characters I absolutely love! I don't think the set is formally announced yet but it has been mentioned on their website briefly. I am supposed to hold off discussing it until it is properly announced on there. But its big, trust me.

--The work on cards has allowed me little time to work on anything else, let alone my projects like ANNA 2 or the adult webcomic. But I am still doing those two things. Once I get ahead on this next set of cards, I will get back to those two things. I am projecting a Fall 2012 release for the adult webcomic. I have the first 40 strips in the can, ready to go! I have 15 more scanned and in various stages of coloring. Anna, I am on page 65 or so and its getting into the meat of the villain parts of the story and setting up the HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGEEEEE battle to come. I've said before that it will be the largest, craziest, bloodiest fight you've ever seen in a comic. Think Rambo 4 mixed with the biggest fights in a comic like Invincible, and you're thinking right. I'm gonna do a bunch of double page splashes! I cannot wait to get to them! Just gotta get paid work rolling first.

--I'm doing designs for a local video game company. I am not sure what all I will be doing yet, but I am busy with some stuff for them. I've done stuff in the past with them as well. Right now, I am doing background graphics for the online game's website. I will show when I am allowed to.

--Wanna see some newer art from me? I posted a bunch of stuff laying around to my deviantart! Warm ups, sketch cards and more! Check it out: http://www.phymns.deviantart.com

So yeah, BUSY! And thats inbetween working a part time day job at the ever stressful Den of Sin and being a dad. Boy oh boy! But lets talk about some other fun things:

--So there are rumors about the new TREK movie. I won't spoil em here, but they are everywhere else (especially bigfanboy.com). But you can see my thoughts on the Trek movie in an old blog right here: http://www.phymns.blogspot.com/2012/02/my-thoughts-on-who-is-trek-villain.html I go into depth about who the villain likely is. But apparently that is just the tip of the iceberg as to the rumors with this flick! Oh boy!!!!

--Avengers this weekend! I am beyond excited. I was searching some sites I love last night and found an online stream of it. (its already released overseas) Its of a crappy camcorder version. But I do not want to watch it. I wanna see it on the big screen! And so should you. Please, go out and support this flick and show your appreciation with your wallet for them making a great movie with a good script and directors who care about the subject matter. Okay? Do it properly! Don't download. Go see it! Big screen! Nothing compares!!!!

--The Dark Knight Rises trailer #3 is out and  you see more and more now. Oh boy am I excited for this flick! Watch it right here: http://bigfanboy.com/wp/?p=13498

--I've taken some time to read some of the new DC 52 comics. Mostly #1s of the big titles. I read Justice League #1-6 though and its really cool. Of course, they've changed creative teams with issue #7 and on (a pet peeve of mine about comics sometimes) and so I probably won't put it on my pull list. But if you like Jim Lee art, go check out that Justice League beginning. Pretty cool.

--FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is this weekend. I'll be at Clems Comics in Downtown Lansing (right by the capital building) signing and selling from 10-2pm or so. I should have some new prints, art and other things to sell. I am extremely low on book stock so I doubt I will have any books for sale. But if you want art, I'll have it! Bring your kids. Kids under 12 get free head sketches! Read more about Clems Comics right here: http://www.clemslansing.com/wordpress/

--I haven't been able to watch a bunch of new movies lately but I have been checking out some of the old Hammer Horror movies such as "Horror of Dracula" and "The Gorgon." Both star Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. I got more too, and hopefully I can get to them soon.

Well I got about a thousand things to do today. Just thought I'd give a general update for those that stick with me. Peace and love, go kick ass and be excellent to each other. Stay Hungry, stay foolish!
