Diary--AH Cha Cha Cha.

6-2-12
I hear the bots around 7:20, so I get up and lay on the couch watching Wubzy and other cartoons with him, drifting in and out of sleep. Around 9:45 I hear the wife and bots talking and I get up. She’s been up puking all morning and is very sick. She talks me into going to the post office to mail her packages for her. Not that I needed much encouragement to get out of the house and rock a trip to town, solo. So I get dressed and head out to the post office. I stand in line for a good while but get the job done. Then I head to Disc Traders to get bots a disc and me some CDs. I score him a used Blues Clues and my CD Booty includes used but pristine copies of Rammstein Sehnsucht, Eagles 2 Disc best of, and Beastie Boys: Ill Communication, Check Yo Head and Pauls Boutique. (I’ve never heard Pauls Boutique. I know, it’s a shame for such a music fan to admit it, but its true. But no worries. I got it now and will listen to it!)
I stop off at Mcds for some lunch for me and the kid and head back. The wife is still sick as a dog and called in to work. She’s having stomach and back contractions at the same time and is wondering if it is early labor related. She mostly relaxes and I upload my new CDs to my computer/Ipod. The kid is restless so I decide to pack him up and head to Walmart. I get bots a few discs (mostly Blues Clues related) and I get some spoons and socks. HOT, ISN’T IT? I grab some yogurt and cereal for the bots too and head home. I get home, put the stuff away and bots is occupied with his discs. I then clean the house up a bit and vacuum the living room/office area. Then I update the blog and check on the wife. Her nausea is clearing up so she gets up to try to eat something. I get to work on coloring DC cards and doing other random minor stuff. I’m feeling kind of tired so I take an hour and a half nap on the couch, while watching cartoons with the bots.
The wife then informs me that she’s gonna go to the walk-in clinic to see whats going on cause she’s not feeling better. She takes off with the promise of bringing home subway. A half hour later, she returns to get her phone to say that the Walk In Clinic recommend her go to the ER instead. So she takes off there, leaving me to sit and home and worry. I put bots to bed at 8:40 and try to take my mind off the worry. I watch “People Vs. George Lucas” and “Die Hard 2” on Netflix, while coloring cards. She texts me to say that she is severely dehydrated, so they got IVs in her. Baby is fine and blood tests have come back negative. They prescribe her pepcid. All along I said she had a stomach virus! I should be an ER medic! But hey, at least her mind is at ease and we know.
She returns home and attempts to eat some Subway she got. I stay up and draw/ink about 8 more cards while watching a marathon of the “Hollywood Treasures” tv show on Netflix. I end up passing out around 3:30 to Netflix’d Trek. Another successful day of artworking in the can!

6-3-12
Bots kicks on the door at 7:45 and I get up to watch cartoons with him. Around 11am, I go in to check on the wife and she starts to get up. She’s feeling better and eats some Cinnamon bread and other stuff. I pencil more DC cards and then ink them up. I do a count and after I finish coloring what I got, I only got 20 or so cards left to do on the set! The last couple nights of working have really paid off. Two more nights of solid working and I might get this set done for good and in the mail by next week! I get a text from my co-worker who said they’d take my Tuesday shift, backing out once again. No biggie. More money for me for Heroes Con!
I spend some time doing a water change on the tank (which is still sans light. We got a light hooked up on the outside of it, but its not really good enough.) and then work on dishes, litter box change and cleaning house. I listen to the new Garbage album, which isn’t too bad. Then I make a strawberry smoothie and sip on that all afternoon. After cleaning I get back to work coloring cards. After a couple hours, I take a break and bots and I play bounce and action figures. I snap some photos of us on my phone and am appalled by the hugeness of my face. So I bring out the weights and do 20 minutes of weight lifting and about 20 minutes of slow cardio. I dust off my book of music dvds and watch some of them while I do my work out. As I do, I rethink a couple scenes and set up for ANNA 2 and once completed, I open up the file and change the script a bit. Tighten certain things up and reprint it, determined to get some thumbnails rolling THIS WEEK!!!
Then I put bots in the bath and transfer him to Pjs, trying to calm him down a bit from his hyper-ness! Finally around 8:40, I put him to bed and he passes out. I get back to the table to pencil more cards. I watch the finale of Game of Thrones and am blown away. My dad calls and I call him back. I talk to Gloria and they drop the bomb that she’s having heart surgery in the morning. They’ve known for a while, but they just didn’t want to tell me for fear I’d worry. So after that, I am bummed out and don’t feel much like sitting up another night and drawing. My mind is distracted, as you can well imagine. So I veg out on the couch watching On Demand “Hollywood Treasures” new season and the 2 part finale of “Family Guy.” Finally around 2am, I pass out.

6-4-12
I wake up at 6:55, get bots on the bus and go check email. I shoot some words out to some people and sit trying not to worry about Gloria’s surgery this morning. I pass back out till noon. I get up, get bots off the bus and start texting dad. He calls some time later to confirm that the surgery went well and she’s in recovery for a couple days. So it seems that a bullet was dodged, thank the Lords of Khobol. I chat with Shane online a while about all things new and old.
I watch Kevin Smiths new online show “Spoilers” and text with the wife. Then I pencil some more sketch cards to get them all done for good this week. The wife comes home and we go to town and run some errands and then return in time for me to head to work. I work my 6-2am shift and its uneventful. The wife calls to say that bots puked all over his bedroom (He never pukes!) and the smell of his puke made her puke too. Its one big barf-o-rama at my house. So they fall asleep together in the bed, making me take couch duty when I get home. No problem. I go home after dropping my co-worker off and Walters calls. We talk till around 4am and then I pass out on the couch. I find out Lee did a Sabo and I wasn’t informed, but I look forward to listening to the Game of Thrones talk all day tomorrow.

6-5-12
I wake up at 9:30. The wife kept the kid home because of yesterday’s puke festival. She has to go to a doctor’s appointment and I foolishly tag along. The whole morning I am fighting sleep and I am extremely moody and tired. She nags at me a bit, of course, she always does when I am tired, like its going to help matters! We go to Red Robin and I eat and feel a bit better. We get home and I hit the couch for an additional 2.5 hours of sleep. She sleeps a bit and then goes to the store with the kid. I get up and check online shit. She returns and reveals she bought me a Curb season to “apologize” for nagging me earlier. I appreciate the gesture, although she bought the wrong season! She got one I already had! We make plans to return it tomorrow. I toy with going out to exchange it for the newly released Season Eight or perhaps even John Carter. But I decide its best to just rent them and see if I like them.
I head out to the mall to look at maybe buying a used CD/DVD. I get there and talk myself out of buying anything I look at. I leave and head to work for my shift. LOTS of drama going on, but I stay out of it all and I am most pleased with my decision to do so. I work the shift and get out at 2am. Walters delays doing a BFB to Wednesday so I can take full part in it. I get home and pass out to American Dad on Netflix.

6-6-12
I get up at 6:55 and get bots ready for his last day of head start schooling till the fall. He’s got an easy day today as they are gonna just play in some water sprinklers and what not. I pack his bag and see him and the wife off. (she’s going to work, not playing in sprinklers… to clarify for ya.) I hit the bed and sleep till 11:45am. I get up, get him off the bus for the last time of his school year and check email. I get an email from my old pal Mike Pascale who re-confirms that he’s doing a story for the TALES OF SEQUENTIAL MAYHEM book I want to assemble for the fall. Shane re-confirmed a couple days ago as well. Just got Dean and Robert to track down about it. I get the bots off the bus and read his year progress report and we play with some of his cool laminated pics of him on a Star, and Apple, a Bus, etc. Then he’s off to watch Blues Clues while I check online stuff and get cards penciled. I got the next few days off of work and I plan to take advantage of it. I make a big TO DO list for the week and do some updates online.
Around 4pm, the wife texts to say she’s on her way and we’ll go out to eat and run errands. I am excited as I have been stuck indoors all day. She picks us up and we head to the bank. We get into a slight tiff about me looking at the budget and I get a bit riled up, but it subsides and cooler heads prevail. We head to East Lansing for me to get comics and we can eat at Five Guys. We get there and park and they head on to Five Guys, and I go up the stairs to 21st Century Comics to get my pull. As I am walking there, I begin to feel nauseous, dizzy and slightly weak. I pay it no mind and go in to get my comics. I pay and head to Five Guys a block away. Again, I am still feeling ill suddenly. I get there and meet the family, who just got my food to the table. We eat and it tastes good. I read some of my books to distract how I am feeling, but it ain’t working. We leave and get back to the car where I announce that I don’t feel good. I feel like vomiting, and instantly think that one of them two gave me whatever they had the last couple days. It must be serious because I never get sick! And I’ve got sick the last couple weeks. (I still got a cough and gravely voice!) We head home, disappointing the wife who was hoping for a nice day out doing stuff. They drop me off and head to Target and Meijer. I try to puke to no avail and decide to lay on the couch. They return a few minutes later and we start a Man Vs. Food marathon. I pass out.
Around 9pm, I wake up and bots is falling asleep on his momma. I still feel achy and very warm. I lay there another hour watching the new Man Vs. Food show, trying to convince myself I feel fine. The wife complains of a severe itch and perhaps a spider bite on her back. She takes a shower cause she’s got a case of the itches. I get up and check online stuff, determined to not let this thing get to me and take me out of commission again! I text Walters to see if we’re still on for the show. He texts back and says 90 minutes.
After that, I do something incredible. Something I haven’t done since the late 90s… I watch a hockey game. Yeah. For some odd reason, I’ve been keeping up with the Stanley Cup playoffs, but not watching the games. Just taking note of the winners. So tonight, I saw that potentially the LA Kings were going to win the Cup, so I decided to tune in. Jersey Devils won to keep the series alive. After it was over, I found myself wishing for more! Odd. So uncharacteristic of me. I am not a fan of hockey at all. It’s the same as if I bought tickets to a Miley Cyrus concert for me. Odd.
Anyway, I call into the Bigfanboy show and pencil/ink cards during it. We finish and I talk to Cat, Mark and Durden till around 2:30, and I hang up and pass out.

6-7-12
I hear bots kicking the door at 8:20am. I get up and check email and online stuff. I write a letter and put some cash in it for Cody, for him to take to Cedar Point. See, he got high grades and therefore was invited to this cool trip as a reward for the good grades through the school! I’m very proud of his accomplishments! I chat with Shane and try to get the wife up so we can go out and make up for yesterday, me getting sick.
She gets up and we head to Mcds for breakfast. Bots downs a whole stack of pancakes, his favorite meal. I down just a McMuffin, as I am still ill and not feeling like eating at all. We then head to Pet Smart for me to return the fish tank bulb. It’s the whole unit that needs replacing, not the bulb! Then we go to Bed, Bath and Beyond to look at record players. Unsuccessful, we go next door to this place called Party City which is awesome! It has tons of party favors of about every property and style of what you’d want. We get bots a bunch of little toys and some balloons for next to nothing. I get a mini stuffed football. Instantly in there, I am feeling sick and weak again. Just like yesterday. UGH! We leave and head to the bank to withdraw money and then to the post office to mail Cody’s letter. Then I announce that I have to go home, disappointing everyone yet again. I don’t want to, but I am absolutely exhausted and run down. I also feel like I could crap out the world. (I hadn’t had a decent crap in a few days.)
We get home, finding a Fed Ex box outside and I try to poo to no avail. I lay on the couch after downing some Nyquil and take a two hour nap. The wife wakes me up as she is going to work. I get up, check online stuff and then feel my stomach bubbling. I try to poo and nothing. I give up and return back to the computer. Instantly, I feel even more bubbling. So I hit the pot one more time. Only this time, I am rewarded with the largest, most extreme “Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber” type of session possible. I emerge ten minutes later (and two rolls of TP lighter) and feel instantly better. You know how people sometimes say that you poo and feel lighter? Well this time, I sure as hell did. I felt about ten pounds lighter!! No joke. I end up on the pot about 4 more times during the day for the same thing to happen. (Aren’t you glad you read these intimate details of my daily life now!)
I spend some time penciling and inking more cards. I open my Fed Ex box and its my next card set. I cannot reveal what it is or who it is for, but it is big time. BIG. And I am instantly in awe that I am a part of it. Like, this was one of the goals I had set for myself, to get on this kind of set if I got into sketch cards. Its an awesome feeling! Eventually, I get all the current set penciled and inked, while watching a ton of American Dad on Netflix. I take a break and watch some  cartoons with bots (mostly Blues Clues) and put him down for bed, while I text with Dean some Heroes Con details. I decide that I should try to get at least one night of decent sleep, so I lay down in bed watching a Ralphie May comedy special on Netflix via my iphone. I pass out.
I wake up around midnight to see the wife home and we chat a bit. I get up to pee and get a drink. I give her a back rub and we both pass out to some AVGN.
