9-11-12
I hear bots playing in my bedroom at 8am, so I get up. I
check messages and text/facetime with the wife a bit. I brew some coffee and
record/upload a new Morning Show podcast. I check online stuff, chat with Shane
and read online news I missed in the last couple days. Around 10:30 the bots
and I load up in the silver surfer and head to walmart for a snot sucker,
Kleenex and a few other items. I also get the wife some flowers and a few
snacks to enjoy in the hospital. We head there and the wife loves em. I hold
James for a while and after a bit, bots is getting too rowdy. So we take off
back for home.
We get home, check mail and I update blog, upload a new
video and attempt to record a back up morning show. During it, my Garage Band
keeps freezing and my comp starts acting up hardcore. Eventually it goes into
full freeze mode and I know it’s a hard crash. I attempt to reboot a few times
but it doesn’t take. I leave it off and unplugged and head out to the bank, to
Arbys for the kid and then back to the hospital. We spend two and a half more
hours there, in which I hold James again and take more pics. I catch the wife
up on the day of nothingness I had and we talk and hang out. It sucks with her
not being at home. It gets lonely!
Eventually around 7:30, bots and I leave and head to Walmart
to get him some medicine cause his runny nose is developing into a cough. I get
him some Reeses cups too. I get home and boot the mac into safe mode, run disc
utility on it and then delete some files it says it cannot fix. (hmmmn….) I
update the Java, which might be the problem as well. Then do a full reboot. It
boots up fine and acts a bit sluggish, but its alive for now, shocked back into
existence. Bots wants a bath, so I give him one, while face-timing with the
wife over the phone. After that, I put him down for sleep and then do a blog
about my top 25 albums just to get some writing done. I eventually lose myself
in the news and Wikipedia for a bit. I am feeling sleepy as hell so I lay down
watching Netflix and pass out by 1am.
9-13-12
My alarm gets me up at 7:30 and the bots will not get up.
He’s got a bad cough and feels warm as hell. His temp only reads at a 97.5
though, unless I am not using it right. I attempt to get him dressed and get
him interested in going to school but all he is doing is laying around
exhausted and sick. So I call his bus and school saying he’s not coming. Its
obvious the poor little guy be sick as hell. I lay him back down and check
online shit. It doesn’t take as he gets up choking on his own coughing and then
pukes ALL OVER! So I call the wife to help me set up a doctor appointment. None
available. So I call over to different ready care places to see if he can get
in and how much it will be. Finally, I find a place and take him in. Basically
he’s got a big cold, so he gets anti-biotics. We head to Walgreens and wait for
25 minutes and finally get them.
I make the long drive to the hospital, park on the top level
by the helicopter (again! Man the parking there sucks!) and make the long trek
to their room on the other side of the building and up 3 stories again. We
wait around till about 3:30 and they say we can go home. Baby is doing well and
so is momma. My brother calls and we chat a bit and he says he is coming by
tonight to see the baby and he’s got papers for me to sign, regarding our late
uncle. The hospital discharges them and give her some prescriptions and
instructions and I load up the car (via the long journey twice) and then wait
outside to pick everyone up. Finally they come out and James’ car seat isn’t
the most ideal angle and placement. So the wife crawls in the back to keep and
eye on him as we head home. We stop off at the bank on the way. We get home and
take everyone inside. I have to head back out to fill the wife’s scripts, so I
head to Walgreens and wait and wait. I take off to pay a bill cause its taking
too long, and then I return. I do some light shopping in the meantime. Finally
they say they cannot fill the scripts because numbers don’t match and the
doctor didn’t sign one of them. Plus one is considered a narcotic, so they have
to be careful about it. I understand, but am now worried that my wife will not
have pain meds. So I leave and call the wife who our call gets disconnected.
She calls me back and says it was because when I called, she was feeding the
baby and he flailed and he almost fell. Understandably, she’s upset. So I
promise to hurry home. I head to Kroger and get enough groceries for the week
for everyone. Then make 3 trips inside to carry everything in, dropping and
breaking food and hurting my left hand in the process. I get back inside, put
away everything and then the wife says she called the hospital to sort
everything out, so I gotta head back to Walgreens. This time I have to take the
bots, because he’s being a handful and the wife cannot keep up and her surgery
scar is bleeding as a result. Worried as hell about her, I load Scott up and
head back to Walgreens for the third time. I’m quite pissed at this point
because the stupid hospital doctors and their error started a chain reaction
leaving me mad, left hand hurt, bots all crazy wound up, my wife’s cut bleeding
again and an almost major accident with our newborn baby. (Ya just never know
what even the most minor things you muck up can cause a chain reaction, eh?)
SO: I get to Walgreens and wait about another 30 minutes.
Meanwhile bots is loud, uncooperative and crazy. At this point, I am ready to
unload on everything and everyone. But finally get the pills and rush home. I
give em to the wife and wait on her to make sure she and the baby are okay. I
re-clean the house (bots messed it up when I was out the first time, natch) and
wait for my brother to arrive. I update blog and keep bots out of the wife’s
hair as best I can. But he’s acting normal and he’s SOOOOOOOOOO going to school
tomorrow! I need a break! Besides, he’s acting quite fine now.
My brother rings the bell at 9pm and I visit with him, my
sister in law and my nephew. It’s a good hour or so conversation that is all
over the map. It feels great to talk to them. I feel now that we’re all older
(especially me) that we can relate to each other a lot better than we used to
be able to. They leave and I give away some art and video game books to my
nephew. I sit with bots and he passes out by 9:55. Then I sit with James and
Kelly, who are feeling much better after the stressful day we’ve had. Finally I
go back to my desk and break out the markers to finish those Dracula cards. I
give the wife the run of the bedroom and the bed, so she’s nice and comfy for the
night. I end up passing out on the couch.
An hour later, the wife wakes me up saying she don’t feel
good and wants me in there. So I go in there and help with the baby and
everything else. She’s freaking out wondering if there’s something wrong with
her cause she came home early and she’s on the verge of some major anxiety
attacks. I’m fighting the sickness that bots has now officially gave me and it
sucks. Finally around 4:30 I pass out. Then back up at 6 for a feeding. Then
back out till 7am when Bots gets up. I’ll let the next day tell the story….
9-14-12
I wake up at 7am when bots gets up and I play with him a
bit. We all get ready and head to the doctor’s office so the wife can get her
staples removed. She goes in and I feed the baby and keep the bots occupied via
her phone. She comes out and we score some food at Mcds and then back home.
Bots is much better today as far as his acting out and so he remains quiet
while the wife sleeps til around 4pm. All day is mostly taken up by drawing,
cleaning and sorting. My computer is acting up HARDCORE and I am wracking my
brain trying to think of ways to raise money to get a new one, although it is
not looking possible until like November or so.
By the end of the day I have mailed out all packages, put my
new Titanic AP cards on ebay, started 4 sketches for commissions for Ray and
then corresponded with everyone I needed to talk to. I start on the Burlesque
card set from cult-stuff and talk on the phone to a local girl who wants me to
possibly do commissioned caracatures of her school kids for a charity. Not much
beyond that! I pass out around 1am. Bots is up at 1:30 and I have to lay him
back down in his bed again. To which I realize, that life with two kids at home
with various needs is going to be difficult for a while.
9-15-12
I wake up at 8:30am and the baby wants food. I hold him
while the wife gets ready. While feeding, bots joins us. I get up and record a
morning show and slowly upload it. I check online shit and clean out some old
crap from my deviantart page. Ray approves my sketches and now I can go to
inks. I ink two and then take a break. Bots and I decide to head out on our own
to bond. We go to Best Buy where I look longingly at the new imacs and try an
approval for credit which doesn’t take, no matter how many times I tell them
that it won’t! (I make too little cause
I only work 1-2 days a week!) I get bots a disc for good behavior and we grab
food and head back. We watch the rest of the Michigan game and then switch to
the Notre Dame/MSU game, which ends up a dud for me. Inbetween that I watch
Piranha on Netflix. I decide to hit the hay but see that I get a job offer
before crashing. I stay up to toss some examples the client’s way and feel I
nailed the response in the proper way. The day did ends up on a good note and I
fell asleep around 1am to Miami Ink on Netflix.
9-16-12
I wake up at 8am with bots and baby and the wife says she
wants to go out with bots today to bond. I clean up the house and ink the rest
of Ray’s drawings. I also answer waiting emails. I nap with the baby while the
wife takes bots out to feed the ducks. They return later and I deduce that bots
started acting up at some point during their trip. The wife is back to being in
pain and so I take over. I add a ton of horror flicks to my Netflix cue, as I
am on a huge horror movie kick lately, and make the silent promise to myself
that I will watch one new movie or show a day till the end of October. Then we
sit and watch the end of the Steelers/Jets game. Steelers pull it out and I am
very happy!
Then we order a pizza and wait around for the Lions/49rs
game. We watch and it’s a frustrating 4 hours for me. Eventually they lose, as
the wife puts the kids to bed. I skim through some shows on Netflix before
finally settling on watching more Miami Ink. The baby keeps getting up for
feedings during the night and I don’t end up falling asleep until 3am.
