Daily Diary is Back!

(NOTE: I've reverted back to doing some of the daily diary doings stuff because A-Some people liked it and B-Its a good writing warm up exercise, getting my hands loose to type and get the brain rolling on computer work. So enjoy.)

Monday --- I get up at 7:30am to the baby crying and bring him downstairs. I download podcasts and play with the baby and bots til the bus comes at 11:20. Bus driver informs me that his new pick up time is now 11:30. I pack up James into the Silver Surfer and we grab lunch together. Then we hit the mall where I get a 4th Doctor style Doctor Who scarf for winter (always wanted one of those!). I take the wife some Burger King as a surprise. I also hit up a couple card shops trying to find some cards for bots to play with. I find nothing he’d be into.

I get back home and put baby down for a nap and pencil on some commissions. A couple hours later, he’s back up and tugging at my pant-leg, forcing me to stop. I do and we clean up the kitchen a bit. Bots gets off the bus at 4:20 and outside my door is a huge box from Amazon. I open it up and inside are my purchases: The Rocky Balboa BR box set, Absolute Sandman vol 1, The Walking Dead compendium 2, Neil Peart’s Ghost Rider, two Jim Norton comedy books and a n AVGN vol. 6 DVD. I keep bots occupied and baby fed until the wife gets home around 5:20pm. We head back out to grab Five Guys for dinner. Once there, I realize that bots has been drinking out of my straw and might get me sick! Too late, as I have already drank after him like an idiot.

We head home and the wife and I curl up and watch Hammer Horror’s “Dracula Rises from the Grave” on DVD, after putting baby to bed. I’m starting to feel a bit ill and my sinuses start acting up so I email Walters to cancel me being on the Breaking Bad podcast that night. I lay down with the wife around 9:20 after bots is asleep and we pass out.

Tuesday—I get up at 8:10 to the baby’s howls. We get up and he’s particularly moody. We play a bit and I get bots on the bus. Baby goes down for a nap and I scan commissions and shoot out emails to clients who owe me money. I then have to recheck with Abby when the deadline for the NFL cards are. Its October, just like I thought. I make a plan of how many I need to do each day to keep on deadline. I do little odds and ends around the office and clean the house, even empty the cat box. But suddenly, my sinuses act up bad and I feel achey. I try to fight it up but no avail. I lay down on the couch reading Jim Norton books. They read fast and I blaze through both of them in the same day.

Bots gets off the bus and baby gets up too. The wife calls to say she’s on her way back from Detroit for a work meeting. She gets home and then heads back out to her store to drop off the bank deposit. She returns and spends time with the baby. I am not feeling well at all so I go lay down upstairs for an hour and read some more, finishing the second Jim Norton book. I come back downstairs and debate on going to get OJ, but decide on a Soda instead. Smart eh? The wife puts baby to bed and then I come downstairs to find something to drink. I realize that in my absence, bots has got into my office, climbed my bookcase and got our fish food. Then dumped the whole bottle of food into my tank. (SIGH)

I’m pretty steamed about it and so the wife puts bots to bed. I decide to get some writing done and do 8 pages on the book and write out new blogs and tweets. I head upstairs at 11:30 and move bots to his room. I pass out as soon as I hit the pillow. Bots wakes up crying about 3 times in the night and each time I have to get up to get him to calm down and go back to sleep. Plus I am tossing and turning with the aches and chills. It’s a long night for me.

Wednesday—

The wife wakes me up at 8:15, and I have a massive headache. She heads to work and I catch up on emails and online shit. I debate whether or not to head out to the pet store with bots and the baby to get rocks and replacement food for the tank I now have to clean out. Or wait till I get him on the bus. If I do that, then baby might not take a nap and leave me to clean it without him getting into everything. So I decide to just go ahead and get it done now. We pack up into the Silver Surfer and head to Pet Smart where I grumble and gripe the whole way. I’m in a FOULLLL mood!

I get the rocks and food and head home. I put baby to bed and start emptying the tank. I get bots on the bus and clean out the rest of the tank, save my fish in a bucket and empty the rocks. I put the new clean rocks in after scrubbing the inside and outside of the tank and refill it, putting the plants and other things in new spots in the tank. Finally I refill with warmish water and put the fishies back it. It looks quite clean and nice. A job well done.

I catch up on emails and just enjoy the quiet time I have, popping pills to get rid of my headache and muscle aches. Tim Hamm calls and asks if I wanna go with him to see Saxon and Fozzy play on Friday in Flint. I call the wife to check her schedule and it seems to work out alright. I call Tim back to confirm. Cool. Going to see Saxon on Friday! I could use a night out, to say the least.  I shoot some sketches to a commission client and haggle with a couple people who still owe me money for work done. (I HATE chasing down payment for work I’ve done!)

Wife gets out of work and we go to Culvers. We’re both moody and tired and I’m still fighting the sickness. We get bots off the bus and head to Lowes to get hooks to lock up my office to prevent further fish tank assaults. We get them and then head to Walgreens for some medicine for the wife. We get home and I drill in the hooks and test them out. My office is now a damn fortress! I take bots upstairs and try to calm him down by watching some tv. He refuses to calm down. The wife takes the baby back to the store for me some medicine and OJ. She gets back and puts him down. We spend the next two hours trying to get bots to pass out, which he eventually does. I hit the bed hard at 10pm, but toss and turn all night, uncomfortable and sweaty. I hate trying to sleep when I am sick.

Thursday—I wake up at 8:20, a nice looong night of sleep, despite my tossing and turning through most of it. The baby gets up and then bots. We hang out all morning as I apply for some more artist jobs and do other online various updates and things. Email Shane back and forth for a bit. Brian Maze calls and we talk for 40 minutes. At 11:28 I put bots on the bus and put James to bed. I toy with the idea of going to town just the two of us, but decide to wait till Kelly gets home. I clean the house, jamming to Saxon (in preparation for tomorrow night) and vacuum the house real good. Feed fishes, gather laundry and then waste some time on youtube looking up Saxon and Motorhead live shows.

I then do some penciling on NFL cards, cause the clock is ticking. The wife gets home at 2 and we get baby up and go to Logans for lunch. Then we get bots off the bus and get some shopping done at Target, where I pick up some wedding presents for Matt and Michelle’s wedding. We get home and I decide to head back out and get bots a used Ipod 4 so he can learn games again. So I head solo to Disc Traders and pick one up for a cheap price. I then go to Five Below and get a nice protective case for it. I get home and load it up with his games and a few videos and present his gift to him. He’s happy and plays with it for the rest of the night. I email back with Tim to confirm pick up for tomorrow’s concert.

I discuss with the wife how I was bummed that I didn’t buy anything for myself and she talks me into enjoying a bit of my new Topps freelance check that just showed up, since our bills are paid. I relent and head back to the Disc Traders and get a used Xbox and a few games. I score some food for the family on the way home. I get home and hook it all up and download updates for it. I also take the time to delete old profiles and re-learn how to mess with the Xbox controls.

A couple hours later, they are in bed and I am downloading demos of Duck Tails Remastered and Worms Armageddon. I check them out and wait an hour for Mark to start the BFB show. He finally starts it shortly before 1am, and I go into the office and sketch on a few more cards during the show. At 3am, I cannot take anymore and I drop from the show and pass out.

Friday—Bots gets me up at 7:45am wanting his ipod. Luckily I charged it overnight! He plays with that and the wife brings the baby downstairs on her way out the door for work. Me and the boys hang out all morning while I catch up with online stuff and listen to this past week’s Howard Stern shows.

Wife calls saying she cannot find her work keys. I tear the house apart trying to find them and cannot find them. I put bots on the bus and baby to bed. I break the Xbox back out and play some Nameco Museum and Rocky Legends. I get my ass handed to me in the ring. Baby wakes up at 2pm, so we go out to the car to check again for the wife’s keys. I find them in the glove compartment. I drive and get her food and to drop off her keys. She’s relieved that I found them. I head to the bank and then to Kroger for some odds and ends. Then back home where I work on some more laundry and listen to Saxon, to prepare for the night ahead. I call unemployment and Willow Ponds and take care of some bill situations. Update blog and sales stuff online.

The wife comes home at 4:30 and we head to the apartment office to resign our lease in front of the owner. (for some reason they need that) She comes home and I update blogs and basically veg out til Tim & Michelle arrive around 7pm. We take off and drive to Flint, just in time to catch the final song of the first opening band. No idea what their name was. Then Fozzy opened and played a great set. Then Saxon came on and kicked ass. The whole night was very high energy and it was hot as hell in there. We got damn close and had some fun at the show. Finally at midnight, the show was done so we headed home. They dropped me off around 1am. I upload photos to FB and update blog. Then crash hard after taking a nice dump. A great night!

Saturday—I wake up from the baby’s cries at 8:10. We head downstairs and I check online stuff. Then I watch TV and veg out a bit. We watch “The Day After Tomorrow” (Which I’ve never seen) and “Ted” all on HBO. The wife gets up and she says she’s still feeling very ill and is considering hitting the hospital cause she might have food poisoning. I think it’s a bad stomach virus, as she was up all night in the bathroom. She begs me to not go to Matt and Michelle’s wedding and I relent so that I can stay behind and watch the kids while she lays in bed and tries to get better. I shoot a long message to them on FB with apologies. I feel bad about it all day.

I listen to Monday’s Stern show while coloring NFL sketch cards and put baby down for a nap. After three hours I stop and play with bots for a bit while his ipod charges. I get done with that and then run to the store for sprite and the wife some soup. Then I get back and play with baby for a while, and watch some of the MSU game and bits other randomness on TV. I put baby to bed at 8 and start playing some Batman Arkham Asylum on Xbox. But after an hour of playing I am very dizzy cause of the motion sickness I get so I stop. I watch a Rush doc on Vh1 Classic and bots hits the bed.

I spend some time gathering pics and shot footage for a youtube project to co-incide with my CAPTAIN’S LOG videos. Then hit the bed around midnight.
