Updates and things

Hey folks! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am. The wife and I got to go out on a "date night" last night, which is a rarity for us. Some pals watched the kids (they slept through the whole thing) and the wife and I hit two bars, two strip clubs. It was like old times. Usually when we get alone, all we talk about is the kids! But this time I really didn't try to bring them up and just enjoyed our company. See, she works a lot and I am with the kids all day. And when she gets home, she takes over and I get to work on art stuff. We're like two passing ships most of the time. Never time for OURSELVES. But I was glad to quickly organize a break and thanks to my friends for coming out and giving us one. Its been a stressful couple weeks for us for some personal reasons and even before that. My grand vacation to Chicago for Wizard World a month ago was such a high note and then I came home to a couple low blows. Personal, family related and then a friend of 20 years stabbing me in the back. Then the financial woes. All of which are now gone. Dealt with. We've emerged and we're triumphant. Rebuilding in some cases, but we're better off now than ever before.

In some ways, we're relearning ourselves and what we are capable of. It was touch and go, trying to figure out me now being a full time artist and how we were going to make ends meet. But I'm grateful because I have got several long term clients who order consistant work from me and I'm always busy. In some cases, I am still owed money for work done (a total of $800 at the moment)! But I'm doing okay. This last week I recently got a new sketch card gig which is a huge deal for me. Its sports related and it deals with one of my absolute favorite sports. I am not sure I can reveal it, but suffice to say I was jumping up and down when I got the gig. The excitement of it helped such much that it didn't even phase me when I got passed up for another gig that I really wanted. I was fine with it. Cause I'd rather focus on this new one, 100%. And I got plenty of other commissions anyway.

So basically in a nutshell, THIS IS GOING TO WORK! I am confident of that now. We got a rhythm going and bills are all paid. Thats all I really want out of life. To keep working, spend time with my family and buy a little something now and then. And to KEEP WORKING! I won't let you down. And thanks to all my clients I work with. You keep me afloat and I cannot express my grattitude enough.

Okay, its PLUG TIME! Have you ordered my ARTBOOK yet? Do so right HERE!! Its a pre-order. Books will ship in late Oct/early Nov. Free shipping and sketch. Here's the cover:

Anna Pocalypse book 1 will get a reprint around the same time with a new cover! I am busy coloring it now and will reveal it soon. I got a few commissions to finish first.

New episodes of my IDIOTHEAD MORNING SHOW podcasts are live now! Download/Stream  RIGHT HERE  or subscribe via Itunes right HERE. Its free and its bonus content that you don't get in the blog here. Please download and enjoy. Make with the comments and ratings. Hopefully one day I'll get sponsors for the shows and maybe make some money to keep it going. I appreciate it. And hey, email me questions and I will read them live on the show!

My pals Matt and Michelle are getting married this coming weekend. I've known Michelle since 1994 or so. And Matt I met a couple years ago when they started dating. Matt and I went and saw Black Sabbath last month. We've really hit it off. I'm very happy to see that they found each other and its been a long time since I've been at a wedding. I cannot wait to see them tie the knot!

I'm a huge BREAKING BAD addict and the show is winding down nicely. Its all I think about during the week. There's about three shows left and I cannot wait to see how the whole show is tied together. If you haven't seen the show, watch it via Netflix. You won't be dissapointed. Best show on TV right now. And in October, WALKING DEAD comes back. Oh yes!

Upcoming Conventions: I will be at the DETROIT FANFARE comic show in October, splitting a table with my buddy Robert Knight. We worked on the TALES OF SEQUENTIAL MAYHEM horror book together. A rare opportunity to get the books autographed/sketched by us in person at a show! I will have prints and hopefully artbooks there at the con to sell. Looking forward to it.

I am also being asked to be a guest at some shows for 2014 already! Nothing I want to announce yet but there's already plans for a big tour to come to celebrate my 20th year in comics. I am going from coast to coast. In fact, last night I was talking with some friends to hit a show (and a place on the Earth) I've always wanted to go. So expect big news!

Anyway folks, I guess thats about it. Thanks for everything and take care out there.

Luvs, T
