Blah blah weekend, blah....

This weekend we drove to K-zoo and stopped at FANFARE comics. I traded in some DVDs and NES games and got some amatuer comics and a tradebook I have been putting off. Kelly got a SIMPSONS tradebook that is all tree-house of horror stories. funny enough, JIM MAHFOOD wrote and drew one of the stories in the book! Quite a find! Kelly collects simpsons and loony tunes comics! Its cool that she found her own thing in something I like. now she's got something to track down at conventions! Next, I'll get her into liberty meadows and strangers in paradise!

I got the Nightmare on Elm Street comic. I'm a sucker for AVATAR and the things they release. Also, I picked up ROADSONG, but Allen Gross and Joanna Estep. It was quite good although it seemed to read very fast. There were only about 4 word balloons per page! Her art was good and it made me want to linger there more... but hte book is like "manga size" or whatever. maybe thats the standard. But its 200 pages and I read it all in 20 minutes! Quick. But i'd still recommend it, if only for her art. It was killer.

We went to hooters and spent $38 on a meal there! It was very good food! I had forgotten. It was the first time the wife had ever gone. She was quite impressed. Then we stopped at the lion's den (adult book store) on the way home.

Sunday, we lounged around. I went into work and worked on word balloons on THE OUTCAST #1. I got alot done so about 7 pages to go! Its shaping up to be an awesome book! I tell yeh, I never know how hte final product will be when I write the script, thumbnail it, draw it, ink it, scan it and word balloon it until I get that final edited print out! Its something special! I think the fans of my stuff will be totally stoked on it. We've got a good story here with a strong female lead. There are a couple of parts in the first issue that are some of my favorite moments I have ever written. Yes, its that good. You are all in for a treat!

Anyway, gonna draw some more today and work on some touch ups. Not much else to report. Check back soon!
