Happy B-day to me!

Hey everyone, its tuesday, January 24th and its my B-day. I'm happy to say that everything is going great right now and I have the day off of work! I'm planning on going out tonight and celebrating me turning the big 2-8!

Its 3am right now, and I already got an early present! For some of you might now, I started drawing by watching a little show on PBS called "THE SECRET CITY," which was run by a guy named MARK KISTLER. He is still on PBS, doing a show called "THE IMAGINATION STATION." I've thanked him in every liner note of any comic I've ever created. Without his influence, I wouldn't be an artist today. Essentially, I wouldn't be me! Well, I finally managed to track down his email and I Sent him a long email of my life story and how he has changed my life. I never expected anything back. But tonight, I checked my stuff, and I got this email from him, reprinted here in its entirety for your reading pleasure!

Hi Adam,

What an amazing letter...I've got to post it on my site! Very inspiring, had to share it with my wife and 3 kids, (see what daddy's students say!)

I'd enjoy your work, are you near Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo this summer during my art camps? Perhaps a cup of coffee and shop talk.

Thanks again, very much, made my day...no year!

I cannot tell you how much this little blurb means to me. I know he probebly gets like 10 emails a day like the one I sent him, and it was nice of him to reply to me. I will track him down at one of those camps and meet him in person. Give him my stuff in person. Wow. Its all crazy. What do you say to the person who effected your life so much? I wouldn't be an artist if it weren't for him. What would a 28 year old birthday mean to me, as a non-artist who had no goals or prospects of creativity? Pretty much nothing I can tell you. Thank you Mark Kistler for giving me a great life. Thank you.

Okay, onto other things: I dunno if it will be today or the next 2-3 days, but definately this week, I will have a review up on http://www.newsarama.com for my first tradebook. Thats the one with the old crap art, and I hope they don't kill me too much. But the reviewer said he enjoyed it and would love to see more, and more he will get! (when I release Hymns Tradebook #3 and Outcast #1-3!!!) So, if you are new here and reading this as a result of that review, WELCOME! Hope you enjoy my stuff. But if you are a longtime fan, I hope you will go to the NEWSARAMA website and enjoy that article. They are good people there. I check that site every day and have for many months.

Well, not too sure what is going to happen for my Birthday night. Depends on the money situation. But either way, today I am a happy man.

much luv, ADAM T.
