Holding Hands with Dark Light.....

SUNDAY----

I get up and hang around the house. I clean up the place somewhat, checking email and junk till the wife gets home at 2pm. We go to Jons and eat. I drop her off and I head into my work. No one is there and I am busy doing the word balloons for EARTHGIRL. They are coming along great. I shoot emails to everyone about the various comic projects. I send an email about a commission piece I am doing. I send an email about a tattoo commission piece I am also doing. and I send Melody an email saying 7 pages are done. But I forget to attach the 7 pages! I won't be back to my job till Tuesday, so I gotta wait then.

I get home and wake up the wife. She wants to go out but we have no cash and none of her friends want to do anything. So we opt to stay in and watch TV. We pass out around 4am.

MONDAY----

I get up and the wife gets home from work. She cashes our wonderful Verizon check and we split the money. I want to go out of town but she does not. She naps while I trek all the way to Lansing. I buy nothing but enjoy the sunny day drive, listening to music and singing loudly. I think about all the troubles going on with my comics and what I am gonna do. Its a good "clear my mind" trip.

I get home and the wife wants to go out and drink. We opt to head to the Casino. We gamble around $20 and lose. We leave after she buys a ring at the gift shop. We grab some shakes from Mcdonalds and head home. We play some old MARIO BROTHERS ALL STARS on SNES, and I play a game of TROY AIKMAN FOOTBAL (vintage!) She passes out around 3am. I pass out at 4am.

TUESDAY----

I wake up with a surprise, my COMIXPRESS proof is in the office. I pick it up and open the package. Its beautiful! Its perfect! Superior quality, great ink consistancy, colour seps right on the money, AMAZING! It makes the weeks of not know whats going on stress, very worth it! I email and give them the go ahead to print my books. They maintain I can have them my friday, monday at the latest. I'll believe it when I see it, but I am hopefull once more.

So, with that, Comixpress has my support. I am doing EARTHGIRL, OUTCAST and PLEASANT LIFE through them now. Very nice company. But if I can offer a piece of advice, PRINT 3 MONTHS AHEAD OF TIME!!!!!!!! Give them plenty of room to work with. give them a very early deadline. Save yourself stress! They are a busy company! Anyway, lesson learned. They rock.

I also got a quiet note that my PLEASANT HYMNS BOOK #3's are on thier way. Friday or monday at the latest. Whew... dodged another bullet!!

The wife and I stop by and test drive a Jeep Liberty and we are really interestedin buying one! Gonna wait till september though, once travels and bills are paid.

I go to work at 6pm and pretend to work for 10 hours, while the wife goes to ALMA to drink with her buddy. She spends the night. I sleep home alone. I got 9 days till MOTOR CITY CON!!!! I'm excited as all hell!!!
