I ran... I ran so far away........

Sunday ---

I wake up much later than usual with a BAD case of hangover. My car was left downtown by the BIRD BAR as I was too drunk to drive home the night before. The kicker is that my wife left her car and house keys in the glovebox of my car. So when she went to work, she realized she had no car keys! We got a co-worker of hers to come get us and take us to my car. I gave her the keys and I headed home. First I stopped at Walmart and got some much needed provisions. I also bought a couple 1980's pop compilation CDs.

I chat online with Jay Fosgitt and Dean Stahl about doing a local comic convention or ART JAM #2 here sometime in August when the students come back. Its in the planning stages.

I sat around most of the day, nursing my headache and drawing very little. I cannot recall right now what I watched. But I know I did some house cleaning and hanging out before the wife came home and we both passed out.

Monday ---

The wife wakes up early and has to type a 15 page paper, due later that night! I sleep in till about 1pm or so. Finally, FEX EX delivers my final proof of PLEASANT HYMNS #3 Tradebook to me. I check it over and shoot an email to my printing company to please run it and quickly, as I have 17 days till MOTOR CITY COMIC CON!!! Still no proof from COMIXPRESS with our MAYHEM book. I am royally pissed. We grab lunch at Jons Country Burger.

As my wife heads to class, I go off to work to update website stuff, and fax in my forms to complete the printing process for PLEASANT HYMNS #3. All I can do is cross my fingers that the books ship in time for the Motor City Con. I don't really understand it. I've never had a problem with OPM.com before. I got a new printing rep and she never shoots me a quick email back. So, I am left in the dark. And comixpress is dicking me around with the MAYHEM book. I am getting a MAJOR red alert about that company, and thats bad news... I was depending on them to be my new company! I'm seriously considering not printing OUTCAST #1 through them at all. It pushes it back again, but I need a consistant schedule if I am gonna survive in comics! But, I'll mulling over my options.

After the wife gets out of class, we discuss our diets and opt to have a "final" meal of Pizza at Pisanellos. (I love thier pizza!) While there, the wife expresses interest in partying with a friend of hers in Alma, 20 minutes outta town. I say I'll drive her. And I drive her there.

I get back home around 9:45 and sit at the coffee table and get a good 4 hour drawing session in. While there, I sketch PLEASANT LIFE #1 cover ideas and ink one fully pencilled page of PLEASANT LIFE. Its of Amber walking through campus. I wish I had my camcorder here to document what I am doing for the DVD we are working on (oooh! I spoiled a secret!). The page looks super nice!

I get a call around 2:35 am to drive back to Alma to pick my wife up. I do. We get home and she conks out drunk. I end up surfing the net for an hour and then finally passing out.

Tuesday---

I wake up around noon and check email. Still no word from OPM or COMIXPRESS. I am bascially determined that MAYHEM isn't gonna ship in time for MOTOR CITY CON. I'm pretty pissed.

I head to work early after getting some Hot N Now (I'm depressed so I ate bad). I get an hour and a half drawing in on the new PLEASANT LIFE #1 cover. Its coming along great. I'm taking my time with my art pages this go around. I'm not rushing a thing! I also drop off my application for a second job at Little Caesers. I hope they call me. I desperately need money to print my books!

I punch in and work until the wife calls and we opt to head to Walmart to buy the new TOOL and PEARL JAM albums. I drop her off and head back to work. I resend some flyers promoting Earthgirl to Melody for her new upcoming appearance. She was at the DALLAS Sci Fi Con this past weekend and I got a spike in traffic at the HEAD site as a result. Nice work! Pimp our wares!

I also note that Shane has uploaded a new song to our MYSPACE website. I check it out for the first time, as I wasn't part of the recording of it. And I spend LOTS of time updating our various sites, sending out emails and working on and off the clock.

I get home, draw some more, and pass out.
