The end of a McEra.....

Wednesday---

I get up and do a 12-4:30 at McDonalds and a 5-4am at the newspaper. Shits going down and they shitcanned 85 people at my workplace. Luckily, I wasn't one of them. Or is that unluckilly? I'm not sure.

But I get home and spend an hour late at night finishing the Pleasant Life #2 art. I got one more page of inks to go.

Thursday---

I get up and do a 12-4pm at McDonalds. I am scheduled to go to a crew meeting, but I don't go. Whats the point? Tomarrow is my last day!

I get home and take a 2 hour nap and then do a 5-4am at the newspaper. Everything goes pretty smooth. No complaints.

Friday---

I get up and do a 12-4:30... my LAST MCDONALDS SHIFT EVER! Everyone is in high spirits and the manager in charge lets me go at 3pm. A last "thank you" perhaps?

You know, given the fact that I hated every slimy second I was in that uniform again, I am sad to see it end. Its that feeling you get when a chapter closes and a new one starts. After SEVEN years (off and on) at McWorld, its time for me to hang up my spatula. I am just the type of person who doesn't fit in there anymore. I'm too honest, open and cynical. It was a great job for its time and I met alot of cool people, lifelong friends there. But the corporate bollocks is just way too much. I geniunely feel sorry for what people call "lifers" there. Meaning, they intend to make McDonalds their LIFE! Well, I got better things to do. It was a great time and I will miss some of the people from East Pickard. Just as much as I miss some from the OTHER Pickard St. McDonalds I slaved at for 6 years. But its time to move on. And if I am eating out of trash bins one day, it would be preferable to putting that uniform on again.

Not that I got the hate on for McDonalds this time around. Far from it. The workers at East (most of them) made this past 4.5 months very tolerable for me. But its so fake around "McDonalds" in general. Nothing against people PERSONALLY. Its just I don't fit in with the corporate game. Not at all. In fact, it sickens me. But onward and upward former co-workers. I wish you all the best of luck and I'm happy to have sweated on the assembly table one last time. If not to remind me why it will never happen again. I've found happiness elsewhere. I hope you all find yours. You deserve it so much.

That said, I'm glad to announce that I got all the money I needed for printing costs. Pleasant Life #1 will go to the printers next week, with #2 following in MARCH at the latest. Then OUTCAST #1 FINALLY Sees print around may, and then #3 Life follows in June. And I got 4 comic con appearances next year: TROY, NOVI, CHICAGO, SAN DIEGO. And who knows where else? Plus, I got the OHIO one coming up in the fall. ITs gonna be a happening year. Also, my move to St. Joe, away from this crappy town. YAY! Excitement is in the air!!!

....plus, I think I'll sneak another trip to jersey in march! Yeah, it was so good last time it needs to be repeated!

Anyway, I get to the newspaper and have a decent shift. I make copies of the finished art on Pleasant Life #2 and shoot a pinup to Chad of his character I agreed to do for him. I also check in with my friends and a commission I sent out.

Also, I recieved 4 packages of STAR TREK related stuff I bought on EBAY. And thats why I avoid ebay. I always go buck wild! But my collection is growing!!!

All in all, a decent week. McDonalds is over and I am glad to have my life (and sleep schedule) back. So in the old 12-5's I used to put in at McDonalds, I'll be at the drawing board. I got ALOT of work on my plate... time to rock it.

Peace folks.
