Ever feel you went through 10 days worth of living, but only remember about 2 days cause it wasn’t all memorable? Seems my whole life is like that lately. But I’m living at least.
The wife and I got GHOST HUNTERS season 3, and 1408 on DVD. I’ve been watching that and Star Trek dvds while drawing. I’m on page 12 of THE EXPENDABLES. Seems to be going much smoother and faster than WISE INTELLIGENCE was. The script for WISE was pretty strict as to how many panels and what happens in each panel. EXPENDABLES is a “layout however you want and do whatever you want as long as it fits the story” type of script. Much more my style. But its great to experience both.
Truthfully, both have been fun projects, but I am really ready to return to PLEASANT LIFE and THE OUTCAST. I’ve done about 8 OUTCAST pages here and there the last 2 months when I was bored with what I was currently doing. The art on it.. well, I cannot really say what I think. Its quite different than anything I’ve ever done. I’m consciously trying something different. Everyone I show it to say it’s the best of anything I’ve ever done. I’ve been studying a lot of McFarlane and other “dynamic” artists to emulate and create a style that is my own, but in that same vein. I hope I am successful. Seems to be. Its got me rock hard when I look at it. Each page takes about 8 hours instead of my usual 3-4 per page. So I am defiantly taking my time with it. I expect the first GN to be done mid-next year. I’ll miss the first wave of promotions but that’s fine. I want this work to be my crème de la crème of my greatest art abilities. Time to shine, as they say. Give it one good go at a mainstream type of art style. I hope you all are impressed when it does get to the light of day.
I can say I haven’t felt any depression in the past week or two. I talked about it on Podcast #13. Ever since I wrote a poem about it, I’ve felt better. Odd isn’t it?
Speaking of Podcasts, Shane and I recorded two in a row last Thursday. Should be uploaded soon. I think they are both packed full of info and great fun to listen to.
This week, I start my new work schedule. We’ll see how much I like it.
Nothing else to report. All is well. I’m still breathing.
