Well, first work week of the new schedule came and gone. Its okay but sometimes all the things are piling up and you cannot please everybody. I gotta learn not to take it so personal. But it feels kinda good to be a part of civilization again. No more late night Tom Waits-ish drunken tom or joe foolery. Its back to life for some, and loss of sleep for others. Its okay.
I still haven’t established a pattern. Some days I get up at 7am and draw till 11 when I have to go to work. Others I sleep till 11:30, then work and then stay up late drawing or watching TV or DVDs. Either way, this week I was not as productive as usual.
BUT… I DID start work on those two books I’ve been putting off writing. One, a novel and another a help book about publishing. I’ve been contacting my friends in the industry for advice, support and interest in the book. Gotta shop for a publisher but other than that, we’re looking good. I hope to have both in the can by early summer. I’m gonna use the winter to catch up on both of them and Pleasant Life/Outcast pages.
I re-did my budget for cons and printing. I am hoping to split hotels and tables with people. If anyone out there is willing to split hotel with me at the various cons I’ll be going to next year, hit me up. Still trying to decide if printing some posters would be good or not. We’ll see.
I think my depression is officially gone. Still no clue as to how it came to me in the first place. But suffice to say its gone. I’m not OVERJOYED, but content for now. The things I truly care about are still here and stronger than ever. My comics work, relationship with my wife, etc. We’re trying to clean up the rest.
Been on a Beatles kick lately. I re-watched the Anthology and been into it for a week now. Maybe that’s contributing to me feeling good.
No other news than that. I wish I had more to say, I simply don’t. 2007 is one down-time/production-time worth of a year. I think 2008 will be more exciting in terms of traveling, convention shows, new products, etc. Please bide the time with me.
