Some of you may not know or realize this, but I am a HUGE Orson Welles fan. Citizen Kane, in my top 5 movies always. What I like about him most was that people didn't seem to understand him and how great he was, until it was too late. By age 26, he made what is considered to be, the GREATEST FILM OF ALLLLLLLLLL TIME!!!!!!!!!! Beat that. I even got copy of his famous "War of the worlds" radio cast on CD and Cassette. Love it. Go out and rediscover your love for Orson Welles. Lecture over.
Well, unfortunately, my Xmas bonus wasn't NEARLY as high as they were promising. so my dreams of owning this Toshiba HD-DVD palyer didn't happen. Instead I bought McDonalds, and now I am broke. And Fatter. Great Xmas all around.
Instead I went to BUYMETOYS in South Bend (plug) and got this STAR TREK 2 Admiral Kirk figure. Pretty sweet I must say!
I also scored a SPECTRUM art book and two MODERN MASTERS sketch book/interview book with Mike Wieringo (RIP) and Frank Cho. Highly recommend both. Seeing some of those awesome paintings in Spectrum has got me thinking about doing some oil painting again. Its been since 2003 that I've even touched a brush and canvas!
Here is a toy still life I did bcak in 2000. Not that great, but I'm proud of it. (I'll post more pics on the next blog....)T
