EXPENDABLES cover and post-announcement jitters...
I got the cover to THE EXPENDABLES one shot I drew last year back from the colorist. Peep it out above. Pretty sweet eh? I should have some in stock soon, so you can score one from me via mail or wait till you see me at a con. I should have some then. The writer has the art and I will be getting it back around Pittsburgh Comic Con time. If you are interested in a page from it, I’ll see if I can get it for you.
Today, I went home early from work cause of the snow, they are cutting hours. I jumped at the opportunity to head home and catch up on DVDs I need to watch and drawing to do. I watched the Star Trek DS9 disc and got another via Netflix. I got a stack o’ DVDs I need to watch as well. I’ve been pacing the house for the last couple of hours procrastinating drawing. I did a detailed blueprint on how I’ll have to move my office to the living room cause the new baby room is going to be where my office is now. Kinda sucks but I am sure in the future we will get a house or something and I will get it back in a better fashion. So, I am fine with it. Plus it will be nice to be in the same room as the family working on stuff. If baby cries, I got headphones!
I guess I’m all around nervous. Not so much about the baby coming, but the fact that a lot of my dreams are at the door and now I gotta deliver. Its a lot to take in. Its scary and exciting. It’s a major hump I’ll have to overcome. Not a fear of failure but the point of knowing whats going to happen, but making it happen HARDCORE. Know what I mean? I’ve never been at the point to where I CAN do something. Always wished for it to happen. And now its looking like it will. I just need to stop whining about it and sit down and do it. I guess I’m just blogging to myself here. Talking myself into doing it.
I gotta make my work a business, even moreso than it already is. Its going to be fun to do but a lot of work to set up. Wish me luck. Other than that, let me direct you to the STORE section of my website!!! Lol
Just kidding on that last part. I need to rebuild it. I gotta get with my pal Dean-o and get that rocking.

I have to ask, why the hell have you given your art to the writer, let alone without knowledge of whether or not you'll ever get it back?! You're not new to this game, man. That's professional cartooning 101. Unless the client is buying the art from you outright for some serious bank (and I'm talking Marvel or DC, who often insist on owning pages but pay well for them), you never, NEVER let them have the original pages! You scan them in, color 'em and send them via e-mail. If you don't have a scanner or Photoshop, get your ass down to Kinkos or your public library and use their resources. Do something, but goddamn it, make it work. You've gotta lose this wishy-washy attitude you have with your original art. You're selling it off for chump change and throwing pages into the wind for whomever to grab up. Keep your original art, make PRINTS, sell those instead for what you're currently asking for your original work, and you'll have more product to shill in the long run. Plus, if you do make it big time, you're going to fuckin' wish you'd kept this original pages. Jack Kirby sure as fuck wished he had. This is a wake-up call from a friend and colleague. You want this to be your career, then start using your head, man. I'm looking out for you, and I got your back.

Ooops. I should clarify what I meant there. I meant to say that the writer has the art and I WILL be getting it back in April around Pittsburgh Con. but I said he can have a page or two. As to which ones he's taking, I dunno. But if you all are interested in a particular page, I'll have to see if its available after that. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
