My birthday Weekend....

Well, turning 30 seemed less painful after a quick trip to Mt. Pleasant. But lets start at the beginning...

THURSDAY: I wake up and head to shanes. We podcast and do a skit tape and jam for about 2 hours on old songs. Its the first time we've played together in about a year. We sound crisp, tight and know all our parts as if we just played them yesterday. Shane says its the "chemestry" we have that makes it that way. His boy comes home sick so we opt to go to BestBuy where I get that Family guy STAR WARS DVD and Willow on DVD. then later that night, I join the BIGFANBOY LIVECAST for the first time live. I've been listening to it since it started over a year ago and love listening to it. I called in and expressed my thanks. They graciously let me stay on a bit and I tossed out a joke here and there. but I got out early cause I had to get up early to head to Mt. Pleasant the next day. All in all, a good birthday. Quiet and restful.

FRIDAY: We leave in the early AM and get to Mt. Pleasant around 10-11am. We eat BOB EVANS with my parents and then go shopping around town, observing what has changed in the last year. then come back to the hotel and sleep a bit. then we do late Lunch at LIL CHEF with my parents and they drop us off at the BIRD for drinks. Several of the wife's friends stopped by and practically all my old co-workers too. It was great to see everyone. Kelly's friend ZACH took this pic of me:

I drank around 2 pitchers of beer and pretty much was loopy drunk. I saw some old friends like Joel (thanks for the DVD sir) and various old peeps from around town I once knew. and for a moment, the last year of living in St. Joseph melted away and I felt like I've always been there. After a while, everyone left and the wife and I got a cap van home. I had to sit on the floor while they guy drove 100 miles an hour in a 25. I thought I was gonna die. Or fall out of the van, I was pressed against the door! But we made it back to teh hotel, entertaining my parents with our drunkenness. We passed out around 2am.

SATURDAY: We got up around 10 and drove to Wal-Mart. then to the Book Mark and Paperback Book Exchange. I got some old books and a magazine and came back to the hotel for a nap. I called JON and we agreed to meet him to pick him up and take him to the movies. We met and drove to Celebration Cinema to see RAMBO 4. It was pretty good. (Full review at the head site). Aftera quick stop off at the porn shop which I emerged empty handed (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????) I dropped Kelly off at BW3 with her friends and Jon and I caught up over LIL CHEF food. We decided to not hit the Deja Vu in Saginaw cause of the snow. Plus, our funds were starting to run low. So maybe in March when we return. The wife walked to Lil Chef and hung with us a bit before we left and dropped Jon back off. It was great to see him. turns out he might be moving out of Mt. Pleasant too! We
went back to the hotel and tried to get some sleep. My parents came back and I chatted with thema bit. Then tossed and turned throughout the night. I didn't get much sleep there. Never comfortable.

SUNDAY: Gloria had a hard coughing fit around 5am so I got up and watched a documentary on Martin Luther King Jr. Then slept till 9am. then we checked out and had a final breakfast at BOB EVANS. We chatted with my parents and said our goodbyes. We all departed for home. I opted not to stop at the Perry LIONS DEN or FANFARE in Kalamazoo for comics. We got home around 2pm.

Overall, I had a good time. The best part was THE BIRD on friday. I miss you guys. But now I'm home and all is back to normal. Back to the drawing board... for real.

Luvs and cheers me droogies,

T
