Out of respect for Mr. Straub, I decided to go with the other cover idea I had, and so I reworked the cover today. So here is the final, final PLEASANT LIFE "What We Leave Behind" cover.
I will say that Kris Straub is one great dude, who was very understanding (as noted in the comments in the previous post) of the mishap/confusion. I must admit to being slightly embarrassed at the whole thing. I don't know him or his work too closely. I was entertained by his work on the old talkshoe podcasts with Kurtz. Thats really all I know of him, but I think after this and learning a bit more about his stuff, I will look into scoring that book in the future.
I was gonna just say fuck it and go with it, but the more I thought about it, I decided that the dude beat me to the reference punch first, so I'll go ahead and change what I got while I still can. I'd hate for any confusion on the part of anyone out there. So, there it is. We got a new cover, and I hope you all dig it out there. I think the STAR TREK reference is more front and center rather than having to explain that the book is a homage to the Motion Picture (a movie they barely remember) anyway.
