Fresh off a headline-grabbing reunion, The Beatles are set to become the remasters of their own domain, with Apple Corps and EMI Music today announcing plans to release a digitally retooled version of the Fab Four's catalog.
The worldwide release is set for Sept. 9, not so coincidentally the same day The Beatles: Rock Band video game is slated to come out.
Those who were fans back in the British boys' heyday will be happy to hear that each album will come ready-made for nostalgia. The CDs will feature the replicated original U.K. album art, expanded booklets with original and new liner notes and rare band photos. For early adopters, CDs will also be embedded for a limited time with a documentary about the album's production.
The albums' remastering have taken place at—where else?—London's famed Abbey Road Studios and the process has spanned the past four years.
All 12 original Beatles albums will be reissued, along with Magical Mystery Tour and Past Masters Vol. I and II. The collection also marks the first time that the band's first four albums will be released in stereo in their entirety.
____I say AWESOME!!!! The ones I have are all scratched up and need updating. Plus, free documentaries on the making of? Gotta have it! GOTTA! I love remastered albums. And The Beatles totally deserve it. Plus, there's some of their albums I don't currently own. So now is my chance!
There was a surprise screening of the new STAR TREK movie in Dallas this past sunday. Every review I've read and people I've talked to who were there said it was absolute greatness. (sigh of relief). I'll judge for myself but at least the early buzz is saying that delivers. Its going to be one long damn month till its premiere in May. I'll be there first day opening.. guaranteed!

Trek had me hard from the footage I saw of it. It is going to punk all other sci-fi.
As for the Beatles it is fricking sweet...though I still say Pete Best forever, Ringo never.
