The Roller Coaster Life

Man, I don't know where to begin. Its been an emotional and exciting week so far, and its only Wednesday! Lets see if I can get it all right in order.

Monday: I get the offer and contract to do cards for Upper Deck's MARVEL BEGINNINGS and MARVELS THE AVENGERS card sets which I wholeheartedly accept! So that is official. I am on cloud nine all day about it. Very exciting. Then the wife drops the bomb that her job is transferring her to an hour out of town. The gas cost and wear and tear on the car will be enormous. No way we can do it with our income and the new apartment we're moving into. Plus it puts a huge hardship on my dayjob and the hours I am available to work there. The wife, upset decides she's gonna try to refuse to go. I do a sabo show and draw, and try to forget about it all. Oh, and I get $400 worth of commissions, BADLY needed at this point. I work on them during Sabo.

Tuesday: The wife suggests she cannot go for her various reasons and they insist that she do. No budging. So bye bye townhome idea. Rent at $1200 is too much for us. So going into emergency mode (considering we have to move in 20 days) I search around and find a place called RAMBLEWOOD. Driving up with only an hour before I have to go into work, I looked at the place. Not much to look at outside. But we checked out the apartment. Back to a two bedroom but the space used is really nice. Lots of closets, cubbys and larger bedrooms for bots and us. Office will have to go back into the living room like it was in St. Joseph. but that way I can work during the day again and not be off in another room not tending to the bots. We lose a washer and dryer, but there's a laundry room outside our door. But the best part is a clubhouse that has the best gym ever, a heated indoor pool, sauna and hot tub, open all year round! Reallllllly nice! Rent: $650 a month, HEAT INCLUDED. Its a no brainer. We signed up and are 99% percent approved at this point. Just gotta drop off check stubs. So I guess thats the new home for a while. Not the most ideal place I wanted but the things I will lose, I will gain a lot of other things, so it is worth it. Its fucking nice!!!!! So there's that. Then that night I get a call from an old longtime best friend who is going through an extremely dark tough time. I won't go into details but lets just say its bad. Bad as it can get. So I offer to come see him on Thursday to prevent anything worse from progressing. A very emotional night to say the least. I go home and get all my thoughts out in a letter I am going to give him later on. I am as brutal and honest as I can be about it. But I do look forward to going to Mt. Pleasant tomorrow to see two of my oldest friends and attempt to stand in front of the reaper for one of them.

Today, I wake up to a thousand emails, texts and calls. I missed a lot of them cause phone was on vibrate. More commissions ordered (THANK YOU!!!!!) phone calls to return and various other emails to take care of. Its such a great life. Busy as fuck, happy as I can make it. Its like I am playing dodgeball. Sometimes I catch a ball, sometimes it slaps me in the face. But I get back in there and keep throwing them hard right back. Still standing. Won't fail. Won't fall. Can't knock me out. ......bitch.
