Christmas Eve and new stuff I've seen.

Today is Christmas Eve. A hearty Merry Christmas to all who have followed me this year and every year! We got big plans for 2012 so you got a lot of things coming!

I've been up late the last two nights drawing on commissions, new pieces and Anna II pages. Its been great to get back into the groove again. Feeling like my old self a bit. Yay for effort!

I took the time to dissect some new media the last few days. I've rarely seen any of the new movies out this year. But I chose some new stuff to check out.

GREEN LANTERN (film): Everyone told me I'd hate it. But to be honest, it wasn't too bad. I am not super versed in the comics so I don't know how it compares with real things or characters. Ryan Reynolds was okay I think. Not how I pictured Hal Jordan to be and things seem a tad too convenient at times. I'd give it a solid C+ to B-

PAUL: A Simon Pegg, Nick Frost joint. Its okay. I don't think it ever crosses the line to be excellent though. Some good jokes in it for nerds. The Alien however is so boring its not even funny. I think that is where it fails. But good Sci Fi love homages. I think hardcore Christians will get offended at this movie though. B- to C+

FRIGHT NIGHT (remake): I'm surprised that I liked this movie. I LOVE the original. But this is everything that a remake should be. It does its own thing, its filled with homages to the original but doesn't make you wish you were watching it instead. Good effects, some likable characters. I'd be interested to think if I would still like this if David Tennant wasn't playing Peter Vincent though. That has to help put it over the edge for me. Still, if you are a horror fan, check it out. Not bad at all. B+ to A-

I also got the GAME OF THRONES book and a pal turned me on to a website where I can watch them all online for free! Gonna start that today.

Cheers folks. Be safe my droogies!
