Today I recorded a new one announcing my "retirement" from "comics." Listen HERE to learn what that means. But in a nutshell, it means a focus on small press and indie shows only. And I am moving toward more writing projects along with illustration. I think that is where I belong. Motor City this year was basically a big "Goodbye for now" to the world of "Comics" as it is traditionally known. But its time to evolve the idea of what I do and what I want out of it. Onward!
The dayjob is still going great! I love it there. Might be my favorite job I've ever had. It feels good to work with a bunch of people I get along with and I have zero complaints about it. I MIGHT get a second job for a couple days a week this summer/fall to make some extra scratch. I got some things I want to save for in the future and taking that on will be a struggle, but in the end, maybe worthwhile.
New music I got: RADIOHEAD "A Moon Shaped Pool" (I give a 4.5 out of 5), ACE FREHLEY "Origins" (3 out of 5) and I'm still digging on the new Anthrax and David Bowie albums from this year. Great year in music so far!
I'm not caught up with movies or TV whatsoever, so I need to make time to do that. Been busy, as you can imagine.
I'm still obsessed with NES collecting. Recently I aquired games like DOUBLE DRAGON and WIZARDS AND WARRIORS in the box! I think I got about 45 or so games now. I got all the Pat the NES Punk dvds too. I basically am obsessed with it as a hobby. Its a good thing I guess. Gives me something to do. And its an investment for the future.
I got a ton of things I have to do around the house here. Continuing to pack and toss old things. Sell stuff I don't want and just enjoy what I have. Its all a juggle but its happening. I move out of this place and into my new apartment on August 26th. I'm really looking forward to it!! Probably late July I'm really gonna ramp shit up and pack it all! I'm anxious to get it going.

I gotta go get some new frames for a couple posters and artwork to hang in my new place, as well as a toaster. RIVITING! I know...
I got a couple books I still want to sit and read. Contemplating taking a break from all artworking/writing to take in some new media.
Also considering a self imposed Net-Silence period to get shit done. I've been good staying off of facebook except for promotional purposes. I need to keep that up!
I have been doing really good on my diet. Not counting the White Castle indulgence on my vacation, I haven't had fast food in almost two weeks. That is down from 2-3 times a day!!! So, yeah. Been good. I've been keeping my promise to the universe. I'm not even tempted really. I've been cooking at home a lot more. Right now I got chicken noodle soup going in my new crock pot. Testing out a new style of making it, all handmade. Should be good. It certainly smells good as I type this!!
Coming up this week I'm seeing the band GHOST in Grand Rapids, spending a day with my girl as well. Kids on Sunday. Then next weekend I have them Saturday through Monday for Memorial Day weekend! I hope to have my oldest son out for a long visit sometime soon. I miss him.
