We're BACK! And entering into the 21st Century!!

Hey everyone! Some of you might have noticed that the site was down for a couple days. My mistake. I was playing around with this Wordpress software on the site and it took over my master files and took the whole site down! I emailed freeservers (who I go through for the site. GREAT PEOPLE!!!) and unfortunately it was the weekend. But first thing Monday, they fix it for me and it goes back to normal! YAY! Thanks Freeservers for that and the many years of great service. But good news is we're back up and in business! Just like we never left, eh? Miss me?

Well, today's big news is I bought this a few moments ago:



A WACOM TABLET!!!! A nice review of it HERE. After digitally coloring with a mouse, cutting my teeth on that with ANNA I, I started coloring ANNA II and a couple other projects I got cooking, I found that mouse coloring just has started to hurt my precious right hand. All that clicking, the mouse shape and bends and all that. and after resisting for a while, I decided what the hell and try out a Wacom tablet for coloring. Placed my order and late this week I'll break it out and give it a whirl.

Now, this DOES NOT mean I am moving all digital with what I do. I still prefer the feel of paper and love to sell my original art. However, I will do all coloring as digital. Except for copic marker commissions, natch. But still, I am excited! Finally I won't be the laughing stock of my colorist buddies. And I've found that coloring my work is allowing it to reach its full potential. I am doing things with color that makes the work really pop! It wakes up my art like nothing else. I still am learning, sure. But I think this will help me get a leg up with learning more about digital coloring. A few more years and I will be a master!

In other news, I Am still selling all old artwork, toys and books I don't need. I even opened some STAR WARS figures I had in boxes back from the 90's so that the kid can play with them. Perceived value to things no longer relates to me and this new head-space I've cultivated. Also got a new coffee table for $6!!! Good ol' Goodwill! I used to draw a lot on the coffee table, my back to the couch to balance me. Makes me hurt less than in the chair all day. Plus I am watching stuff on the big TV again and enjoying being in the same room as my family again.

Lastly, we got the wife's bonus and are paying off long standing credit card and loan debt. I'm very proud of us! By the end of this year I think we'll almost be debt free! (Sans car and college loans, natch) And then next year.. SAVE UP!!! The plans are in motion baby. Finally wising up. Only took me almost 34 years. Now if I can only slay that other demon in my life....... (you know what that is right?)
