Move in DIARY!!

11-19-12

I wake up at 7:10 and get bots ready for the bus. I get him on the bus and head to Walmart for mailers, some shelving for the new office and a few other minor things. I get back home and pack up all cards I sold on ebay and then head to the disc traders. I sell a couple things and pick up Inglorious Bastards and a Christmas Carol starring Jean-Luc Picard. (yeah, I referenced an actor by a role he’s played before, what of it?) Then to the post office to mail my stuff. I stop off at Mcds for breakfast for the wife and then home. I pass out exhausted for a nap.

I wake back up at 2pm and the bots is in full bots mode. I decide we should head out and enjoy the nice day. We all pack up and check the mail. Inside is a $50 gift card to Toys R Us for some surveys the wife filled out. So we head there and get the baby a high chair/booster seat and an Olivia the Pig toy for bots. Plus some things to lock up the new fridge at the new place, to prevent a bots from getting into it! We stop off at Pruess Pets and I drop off an application. I read the situation and find out that quite a few people have already dropped off apps, so it’s a long shot, but worth it if I score the dream day job! We get back home and I update blog and check online shit. Then head into the dreaded day job. I work 6-2am and then leave with the knowledge that I will not have to be back in that place for another 2 weeks! YAY! I get home and pass out by 3am.

11-20-12

I wake up 5am, to the wife saying she’s having an anxiety attack. I talk her down and we go back to sleep. At 7, bots gets up. We already negotiated that it would be her turn to put him on the bus, but she says she don’t feel good as a result of the attack, so I am on bots duty. I get him ready and on the bus and Iam back to sleep by 8:10. I wake up at 11:30 and she’s off at work. I get the baby and do a feeding, and then get bots off the bus. I bag up laundry and box more things for the move and keep bots out of destroying the house (for the most part). The wife finally comes home at 7 while I am inking cards for a set I am on.  I am dead exhausted so I attempt early sleep. But the baby keeps getting up and I am on baby duty, thanks to the wife having to work at 5am. So several attempts to get him to sleep fail and so we sit at my comp during a feeding watching BLACK DYNAMITE. James finally passes out by 3am, and so do I.

11-21-12

I wake up at 6:50 cause the bots is shoving a cup in my face. I attempt minor sleep but am woke up every 10 minutes from him getting into things. I decide to abandon all hope around 8:30 and just go to coloring pages on a commission I am overdue on. I am feeling dog ass tired after a feeding, so I attempt another nap. My phone is blowing up and bots is into everything, so it doesn’t take. I answer emails and re-look at the Anna pages and the adult webcomic strips I got done to see what I think of them now. I haven’t seen them in a couple months due to me being so busy working on other stuff. I get excited because I am very satisfied with what I got! I Can’t wait till its out there and everyone can see it!

The wife gets out at 2pm and heads to our new apartment complex to drop off the new lease and get our keys. She comes back and picks us all up and drops us off. I start a load of laundry and start hanging stuff around the house, taking in the new place. I screw in the new shelving units and hang posters in bots’ room. Bots is running around very happy and excited about all the open space! The wife is a madman, bringing over 4 trips of boxes, which I bring inside and put away while doing laundry and watching two kids. Whoa! Finally around 7pm, we stop and head back to the old place. I check online shit and she puts bots to bed. We do final feedings for Jimmy and watch Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving and then I put in Nat. Lampoons Christmas Vacation. The wife passes out halfway through it and I finish it. Jimmy wakes up in the middle of it and I do another feeding. Then he finally passes out and so do I around 2am.

11-22-12

I wake up at 7:30am to a bots in my face. I start immediately on the Turkey, getting it ready for cooking. I toss it in the oven and then play with Jimmy as the wife brings over two more loads, solo! Around noon, I start taters and dumplings with gravy as we turn on the Lions’ game. Our food is done around 2:30 and we eat hearty. Bots particularly likes the taters. Jimmy wants a bottle in the middle of it all (natch).

I clean up and watch the Lions game. It goes into OT and we decide to leave cause we’re wasting valuable time. I make a plate of leftovers and we drive to the other side of town to drop it off to Dean who is stuck working.

We head to the new house on the west side and I start more laundry. We unload the load we had and the wife heads out for more. I attempt to put together the Christmas tree, only to find out that its broken beyond repair. DAMN! She returns with a load and I put it away. She works on laundry and bots duty while I hang posters, frames and sort other stuff. The baby wants food so we trade off on feeding. Then bots is too hyper and we are not sure if we heard a knocking from our new neighbor or not (ut oh!). So we spend the rest of the time there trying to keep him quieter, with no luck. Finally we leave at 8pm and stop off at the Quality Dairy store for some beer and me some Vodka. Time to celebrate the holidays the right way!

We get home and she puts bots to bed. I check online shit and make a TO DO list for the next couple days. The wife opts out of drinking in favor of sleep. So I am on baby duty till 2am. I watch the first disc of FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING on BR and then pass out to BRUNO on Netflix.

11-23-12

I wake up at 7:30 and decide to be stupid and go out for an Xmas tree. I search a few different places and find nothing to my liking, price-wise. At Target I get some groceries, no Xmas shit. The black Friday sales are in full swing, but I am not interested. I avoid the crowds and just get groceries. Lastly, I head to Menards to find shelving for the office. I don’t find what I need, so I settle for these 4” racks that will just barely hold some action figures for display. Oh well. Maybe I’ll upgrade later when I got more cash. I call the wife and see if she’s up. She gets up and gets the kids ready and I head home. I pick them up and we go to the new home and I screw in my new shelves and start more laundry, after feeding the baby. The wife organizes stuff and then we depart. We hit up the Mcds for lunch and then I decide to be stupid and see if Best Buy has any $4 BR’s left. We go there and its slim pickings. I check out the other deals but find nothing I really want. We depart and head home. The wife checks her shit as I load up a couple boxes of stuff to take over. She takes off for a shower at the new place and heads to work as I am reinstalling new software on the bots’ Ipod and buying him a couple new cartoons via Itunes. Then I update the blog. I spend the rest of the day with the kids and doing cleaning/sorting of the old shitty place, tossing a bunch and pooping my brains out (as is always the custom after a holiday meal, ya know what I mean?)

Finally around 11, the wife comes home and we booze it up and spend the night just celebrating our new home together. We pass out around 2am.

11-24-12

I wake up at 8:30 when the wife heads to the new home for a shower and clothes for work. Bots gets up 30 minutes after. But mostly he lets me sleep till 10! AWESOME!!!!!! I get up, get the baby up and do a feeding. Then start on more colors for some commissions I got to do. I pretty much do that all day and then the wife comes home, we pass out after the kids do.

11-25-12

We get up at 6 in the morning and head over to the new home. The wife takes off for work from 8-3 and I stay there putting things away and doing all the laundry. Finally around 4 she arrives from work, stopping off by the old place for a load of stuff. I take the jeep and head there and get the fish, tank, the rest of my art table and a few other things. Then the wife goes out for a couple more loads as I watch the kids and put more stuff away. Finally around 8pm, we head to the old place. We toss the bed that we’ve had for the last ten years (that sagging piece of shit. GOOD RIDDENCE!!! Goodbye Back Pain!) and then the other half of the couch. Then we feed the baby and watch Walking Dead, Comic book Men and then TRUE LIES on On Demand (I’ve never seen it). I pass out by 1am just about the time that Jamie Lee Curtis is taking her clothes off for a striptease.

11-26-12

I wake up at 6:50 and we get the kids ready for the big move day! The wife drops me off at the Uhaul place. I check in and drive back to the house. My in-laws are waiting there to help watch the baby while we move stuff. The wife’s dad and I start the load up of the truck. He can’t lift much because he’s in his late 60’s. And I am severely out of shape and sore from the week’s moving activities. Around nine, my Co-worker KAT and her hubby CHRIS arrive to help out. Everyone else I asked either cancelled or never got back with me, so I appreciated their support! We load up the truck in record time. Pretty much all that’s left is the furniture and about 4 heavy as fuck boxes (my books and comics, natch). I note that the truck had a TON of leftover room. I coulda got away with just a 10” instead of a 14” footer.

We drive to the new place and unload in thirty minutes. Art Van arrives and delivers our new bed. I am in severe knee pain so I opt out of going upstairs to look at it. Kat and Chris follow me to the Uhaul place to drop off the truck. They tell me that the 14 footer had a ramp and the 10 footer didn’t. Suddenly my upgrade didn’t seem so bad. I ride with them to Little Casears Pizza where I grab a couple hot n’ ready’s for everyone. We get back to the house and shoot the shit for an hour. Kelly’s parents leave and we sit and watch the geese walk around outside. Unclaimed Freight drops off the two couches we bought and Chris and I proceed to make some comments about religion that I think offends one of the workers. (Ut oh!) Oh well. Kelly returns from another trip to get bots off the bus (they haven’t corrected the route and won’t till Wednesday!). Chris and Kat take off and we start organizing the house. We work on that all day till around 5pm, when the Comcast lady arrives and attempts to put in our new DVR (and we get FREE HBO for 12 months! Hell yeah!). The box she brought isn’t working, so she says she’ll come back tomorrow. She takes off and I attempt to get my internet up and running. A call to Comcast help line later, I’m on and watching Netflix via my new Office TV! (well, NEW to me. It used to be in Bots’ room. He never uses it.)

I finish the great clean up of the office and then go upstairs and put the crib together. The wife stays upstairs, sorting the laundry and I stay downstairs with the kids, updating blog and watching cartoons with bots. We all eventually hit the hay and I pass out like a rock on our new soft bed.

11-27-12

I wake up quite rested at 7am to bots turning the light on and waiting downstairs. We hang out all day watching cartoons and I feed James, inbetween finishing laundry and waiting for the cable girl to come back and replace our DVR box. She comes and finally its all set up. Kelly gets home at 5pm with some more stuff from the old place. I take off for groceries from Family Fare and I sell some BR’s I don’t want for extra scratch.

I get back and eat a hot dog and the wife wants to drink. I agree. She puts bots to bed and then declares herself too tired to drink. So she hits the bed. I stay up eating a burrito and checking online shit and doing some coloring. Then hit the bed early around 11pm. A decent night of sleep for once.

11-28-12

I wake up at 7:40 and see that Kelly is late getting up to put bots on the bus. She gets up and rushes him out the door. She comes back and we cuddle in bed a while. Then I get up and start inking/coloring sketch cards I need to get done and she takes off to clean the old apartment. A few hours later, I finish the cards, scan em and then do some AP cards to sell on Ebay for extra scratch. She gets back and I start cooking Fried Chicken, Dumplings and Taters.

We eat hearty an hour later after we put the old shit from the old place away. I feel tired so I curl up on the floor next to a sleeping Jimmy and take an hour nap. I am woke up by the UPS man dropping off my package from Amazon, containing my new RUSH CD (Snakes and Arrows) and the wife’s Xmas present surprise. She’s eyeing it closely so I decide to let her have it. It’s the super doper SOUND OF MUSIC BluRay box set with the music box, book and more marked down from $100 to $19.95! A hell of a find! She loves it. I knew she would.

She gives Jimmy and Bots a bath and I check online shit and scan the AP cards and upload my new CD to my comp. After getting bots to bed, she decides she’s once again too tired to do some drinking. So I declare that she can retire to bed early and I’ll stay up and get work done. I update blog and work on more cards. Then I finish colors on Anna Pocalypse 2 cover and release it publicly. Then doodle a bit more on artwork for the adult site. Finally around midnight I head to bed. The wife finishes feeding the baby and we both pass out.

11-29-12

I wake up at 7:25am and the wife is putting bots on the bus. I get dressed and head to the old apartment for the last time. I grab the last remaining little bits of stuff and do final inspection. It all looks good so I lock it up and drop off the keys to the old office. I head to Menards to return one of the shelves I bought and to Walmart to return some brackets I didn’t end up needing. Then I head to East Lansing to FBC and sell some CDs I no longer want. Then head to 21^st Century Comics where I grab my pull and a few other comics off the racks.

I get back home in time to get bots off the bus and the wife heads for more of a nap. The maintenance comes by and delivers our new oven. (The oven part wasn’t working on the old one!) He installs it and he takes off. The wife wakes up and takes off. I spend the rest of the day listening to podcasts and drawing stuff for the adult site, in-between feeding James and playing with bots. At 6pm, UPS drops off two boxes and its full of my MAYHEM horror books! I put out the announcement that the books have arrived and start addressing mailers. And I do the sketches in the books that need them. Bots hits the bed at 8:30 and I am up with a moody James till 11 when the wife gets home. I grab some cereal and wait for BFB podcast to start. We do the show and its like old times. I pass out by 2am.

11-30-12

I Wake up at 7:20 and put bots on the bus and feed Jimmy. I am back to sleep by 9. At 11:20 I wake up and the wife gets home. At the door is a box from Fed ex, with my Star Wars cards and comp box! I do scans of the cards and then throw the stuff on ebay. Bots gets off the bus and we all go to Arbys for lunch and then to Staples for me to get prints of the mini print I am putting in all the MAYHEM orders. We then hit up several Walgreens for mailers and things for the house. Money is very tight with what I got left for the Mayhem budget so I try to stay smart about what is spent and where. We get back and I start addressing more things. Then we head back out and take the baby to his 3 month check up. He gets 4 shots, poor guy. 

We get back home and I spend two hours packing MAYHEM books and addressing them, tossing in the free mini prints to each one. I set aside Shane, Robert and Mike’s books and then set aside the packages that have to go to Mike to finish. The wife goes to bed at 8:30 and I am up with a moody baby. I opt to rent A CHRISTMAS STORY and watch it for the first time (long story). And then watch ½ of WAR OF THE WORLDS on TNT. Then I pass out around midnight.
