Hey everyone! thanks for coming back.
Well, I've been off FB for a week and a half now and I gotta say, I'm feeling a lot better. I am not wasting as much time on nonsense nor filling myself up with everyone elses hate and sadness. I sometimes cannot help but be filled with the knowledge that so and so I know is hurting and I feel for them type of stuff. Usually when I am sad, I don't post about it on Twitter or FB. Sometimes I'll write a blog here, but most of the time now, I save it for my personal journals, sketchbook and poem writing books. I have quite a few....
I usually check into FB once a day to check any email or correspondence from a few key art groups I am a part of. And if I post a blog or new Starslam strip, I go on there to plug it. But beyond that, not much else. And I am enjoying the disconnect. I highly recommend it. I even took it off of my bookmarks toolbar and deleted the app on my phone. The distraction is gone!
I wish I could say that it translated into more production. This week has been a crazy one. We're getting Scotty adjusted to his new meds, which he's taking on quite well! The baby is teething and moody. I've had some stomach issues, a minor virus. The wife is constantly working in anticipation for the holiday season. My modem went out and I had to wrestle with Comcast for an entire day about it (some guy there just added me to some new exclusive package that included a land line phone... as if I EVER needed that! So I had to try to get all that stopped, juggle the kids and get a new modem from the local store. Then I had to set it up, reset up everything in the house that works with it... it was a pain in the ass!). Its been a hectic week. So I've only done some commission stuff here and there. No Mayhem pages beyond the three I got rolling. I needed to finish them up soon. Not trying to rush it but I want to make room for the big project to come. Plus I gotta get rolling on coloring new StarSlam pages. Lots to juggle, time running low... I need a couple solid days of nothing but production. Maybe get my head in the game today to distract me.
Distract me from what? I got dental surgery tomorrow. Finally! I'm getting an upper wisdom tooth pulled. Dentists scare me half to death and tomorrow morning's activities to come have been on my mind all week. I'm nervous, but anxious to get it done and over with. It has to be done, before it gets any worse. I am just hoping it all goes smoothly and they don't have to break out the band saw to get that tooth out of my skull. I have a horriblel gag reflex so I am worried about blood or anything else. I will not look at any instruments when going in the room or else I will pass out. My only hope at this point is that they will drug me up good and I won't care. I wish I could go in drunk, because then I wouldn't care at all. Maybe some Joker style laughing gas to soothe me as I go in. I don't know, but I know I will survive it fine. Its just nerves at this point. No worries.
I picked up a couple BluRay sets this week. I got the Man of Steel book version from Target. Also I found the Indiana Jones BR set for 1/2 off at FYE, priced that way by mistake. I was very excited. See, I love the thrill of the hunt in these brick and mortor stores! I also got the new Retro Gamer and Horrorhound Magazine, the only magazines I still (and can) buy!
Hey folks! Holiday season is coming! Are you in the market for some sketch cards? I got Artist Proofs available!!
Right now I got Civil War (4), Sherlock Holmes (4), War of the Worlds (2), and the upcoming Leaf Sports "Best of Football" (40). Customize the card with whoever you want on it and act quick! Each card I'm asking $20 each for. You get a full pencil, ink and copic marker colored drawing of who/whatver you want on the card! The NFL cards are perfect for the sports fan in your life. Very timely, with this season going and all that! EMAIL ME HERE if interested. If you buy more than one, I will cut you a deal. Free shipping in the USA.
I suppose thats all I got to plug for now. Everyone take care this weekend and please, make some plans to get with family over the holiday season. Mend some fences and bridges. Go see people you care about. Thats what the holidays are for.
Cheers, T
