Nutshell....

SATURDAY----

I wake up around 3:20 and the wife is off at work. I dink around the house playing around the net and practicing guitar. I watch some old STAR TREK and the RETURN TO THE BATCAVE DVDs (wetting my appetite for the BATMAN reunion next weekend at the Motor City Con!).

The wife gets home around 11 and we go out and try to cash her check at Meijers. Their customer service station closes from 11-7am now... which sucks hard for us nightowls. So, I end up cooking some spaghetti and we watch the first season of VIVA LA BAM together.

After 4pm, the wife falls asleep and I stay up watching a couple episodes of STAR TREK TNG, and drawing a cool looking pinup of SHAWN OF THE DEAD for the Motor City Con. I pass out around 6am.

SUNDAY----

I wake up at 1:30 and the wife wants to go back to Meijer to cash her check. We drive all the way there and they won't cash it, due to the fact that her address isn't on her check. So, we have to drive all the way home to get her check stub, and all the way back... steaming, pissed off. We cash her check and get some Wendy's. My wife is to be highly commended. She has started a diet and does "walk away the pounds" DVDs and eats good choices when we are out and about. Me? I'm still off the wagon and hardcore. Soon, I'll get back in the saddle and give it another go. But I ain't ready yet.

I drop the wife off at work and I head home. I take a two hour nap with the kitties by my side. I call my step-mom for mother's day. My thoughts resonate today with both my mothers. Today, would also have been my mother's birthday. It doesn't seem like she has been dead six years, but it has. Gloria, my step mother now, has been a god send to me and my family. She earned the title of "mom" to me about 4 years ago. I'm glad to say that we get along splendedly. I consider myself lucky. I know people who have horrible mothers. I was blessed with two great ones.

I spend about 2 hours doing dishes, cleaning house, organizing comics/tshirts and original art to sell at the con next weekend. I think I am all set. I just need to laminate a couple pieces of artwork and then I am in business.

I also call and cancel our reservations at the hotel in NOVI, as we have opted to stay at the wife's parents and spend some time with them. Its about 25 minutes away from the Convention Center. I also call and reserve our hotel for the CHICAGO WIZARD WORLD CON for August. Highly excited for that one.

On a personal note, I am still debating about the second job. I think I will make a decision this week. Nothing has really opened up. In reality, working at McDonalds again will get me moving around and "exercising" at work once more. But, I will have to shave off the beard, and I will be exposed to bad food 24/7. The temptation may be too great. But the money... oh, the money....

What to do?

Anyway, I pick up the wife from work, we hang out till she passes out late at night. I stay up, drawing and preparing new art to show at the Motor City Con. I intend to rock out this next weekend. BUT, since I agreed to work monday... I gotta get through 3 long ass days of work.

Patience isn't my strongest suit.
