girl... you'll be a nerd... soon....
So yesterday I took the deep plunge and downloaded the first 3 episodes of the "newest" Doctor Who season one (or 27, how you look at it) and watched em. I completely and totally fell in love with the show and the concept. Its funny, reverent, action packed and just a great ride. Excellent Sci-Fi. I have hereby increased my nerd-dom another 5 points.
I've always been interested in checking out Doctor Who, but the vast amounts of older shows to catch up on really is intimidating. and some of it doesn't exist anymore! Plus there was a radio show in the old days... its hard to go back to the very BEGINNING! But I downloaded an older TOM BAKER era and watched it, enjoyed it. and now I decided to just start with these newer ones and work my way forward. Once I catch up with those, I'll work my way back to the older Doctors and watch those.
Either way, I am hooked on this so far. I knew I would be. There's not a British show that I've seen that I've hated. Maybe I should invest more time at a Barnes & Noble and watch more BBC shows. Cause American TV sucks hairy balls.. except for Battlestar. And this is not just my nerd talking. I've got my nerd put away right now. I'm speaking from logic and experience. So if you got it in you, check out Doctor Who. Its high concept Sci-Fi and throughly enjoyable so far. I'll let you know more thoughts I have on it as I progress through the series.
Scott Bot was fussy as hell yesterday. I had one of those "cannot get anything done" days as a result. but he passed out around 9 and I was able to repencil 4 pages of Pleasant Life that I wasn't 100% satisfied with. So far, looking really good. I'm trying to make the pages better, as well as making sure they match the others. Just when you think you are done tinkering, you find that you are not. ;) I'm hoping to get more done today, but he's already started his fussiness again this morning, so its sorta up in the air. He's nappies right now.
You know, despite the fact that it does put me behind more and it is stressful at times, its all totally worth it. I'm a big fan of babies now. Big fan. So don't take it like I am constantly complaining about it. Even at its worst, its totally, totally worth it.
Today, after 5 days off... I have to go back to work. I am completely not looking forward to it. In fact, I think I'll swallow a gun instead. I keed. But it made me feel better.
I'll try to ink those pages and touch up the others that I have been working on. If I can.
Cheers, T
