TAXES WOES pt. 2

BTW, I never told ya'll about my ongoing tax woes this year.

As you recall before I mentioned that we went to get our taxes done and they said we ended up owing over $800 on Federal. Well, the wife (super sleuth) redid our taxes on TURBO TAX and found many mistakes that they did. For example, they didn't claim our medical expenses, nor add Scott to our deductions. Also they didn't check a couple boxes here and there. So after redoing them, we found out we would be getting a refund of $400 or so.

So we called H&R block where we got our taxes done and they never called us back on it. Finally she went there and basically watched the dude who did our taxes as he re-looked at it and sure enough, the wife was right on all their fuck ups. Then they told us that its already e-filed and cannot be ammended till mid-february. and probebly after amending it, it will take much longer to get our refund than normal. My wife insisted that their screw ups and basic redoing of our taxes ourselves should leave us with some sort of compensation. As in, refund of some if not ALL of our fees for H&R block's services. Currently they are giving us the run-around on that. But we still have to deal with them in february to redo our taxes.

I for one am very excited that we don't have to pay in. It did derail lots of our plans. We're not getting a major amount for a refund, but it certainly is better than paying in. What frustrates me is H&R BLOCK's attitude toward us. They are currently treating us as though we are a nusance. Here's my issue..

1-YOU are our accountants. YOU work for US. if you fuck up, its our ass. and thus, it should be YOUR ass. We can take our business elsewhere and tell as many people as we can to avoid them at all costs.

2-IF you make a mistake, you always compensate the customer, in order regain and win the customer. Honest mistakes do happen, sure. But the way they've been treating us, doesn't justify it. We never gave them any reason to be mean to us or treat us as though we are a nusiance to them. thats just bad business.

So... I can easily announce to you all.. DO NOT go to H&R block to get your taxes done. Now or ever. They will fuck you. They hire random yahoos and are not TAX EXPERTS. A dude on one of the podcasts last night likened them to "fast food tax service" and I happen to agree. I can pay less amount for a credible accountant and get my stuff done much easier and better. Plus get more of a one on one basis. thats what I intend to do for next year. Absolutely.

I've been going to H&R block for years and I've never had such shoddy treatment from them about my taxes or their basic treatment of me or my family. I guess that goes a long way from me.

So, lesson learned. I'll let you all know how february's redo goes. To be continued I guess.
