C2E2, Recent Developments and things...

Well, con season has started and I decided that I am gonna go check out the new C2E2 for the day on Friday the 16th of April. Since I am totally against Wizard World, I'm gonna see if this new show is worth going to for 2011 as a possible exhibitor. Some pretty cool comic guests lined up and some pals of mine will be there. Hope to see a friendly face or two. If you are going, hit me up via email before then and lemme know and we'll try to run into one another. I am going Friday for "professionals day" and will likely be there for a little while that day.

I am doing some sketch cards for Blue Line Pro to benefit the American Cancer Society. These will go up for public auction on May 22nd. Pretty excited about that.

Last night I worked on two new ANNA pages, my first ones in a couple of weeks. I haven't heard back from any of the comic companies I pitched the book to, so it looks like the book is going to stay in house. I should have the printed versions in my hands around April 25th hopefully. If not, they will at least be on sale for the first time publically at MOTOR CITY con in May.

Lastly, to end on a STATE OF THE UNION type of note... I just want to express my general frustration with the world lately. It seems like its gotten worse. Day to day, no one smiles anymore or treats each other with respect. Tensions are so high with the economy and all the hardcore politics fighting going on. Save for the friends I choose to associate with, here's no mutual respect, open mindedness or decency it seems. Everything is an arguement or just tossing hate around. I don't know what has caused all of this and I am not gonna blame a particular movement or side to be on. But I will stress to ya'll to take a step back and think for a moment about how you effect others in your day to day life. Just by tone of voice, attitude and perhaps speaking too much when you can just let things go. I encourage everyone to keep an eye on themselves and also to read independent news sources and literature. Seek all sides of any situation and see for yourself what is real and what you percieve in your own ideas on any one thing. And we're all humans man. We're the successful virus on this planet that has to get along. Strive for getting along with each other, no matter how much you wanna bash someone in the skull for cutting you off in traffic. A great man once said that there's an evolutionary ladder for us to all climb. And the closer we can get to that, the better off we'll be. And we can evolve to better things. Lets strive for it. Be a part of something helpful, meaningful and honest, not just keeping your own back porch clean or worrying about yourself so much anymore. We're all in this together. Helping hands stretch farther than you think. Everyone's little things they do impact others in ways you have no concept of and may never see or hear. Give some thought today about that and what you bring to the table in this thing called life.

We be adults in this together. Lets start all acting like it. Everyone. Evolution is in the air and so close. We as humans are meant to evolve. Our organs regenerate themselves. Our brain currently uses only 10% of its full capacity in the average human lifetime. We can be better than we are. We could as one race, not one person excluded, explore and learn together. THATS the world I live for. I hope ya'll do too.

Now, back to the dick and fart jokes.

“The world is a ride in an amusement park. It goes up and down. It has thrills and chills and it's brightly colored and it's loud and fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" Other people have remembered, and they come back to us,... they say, "Hey, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people. It's just a ride and we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money, a choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one.” --BILL HICKS

Yo Adam, when you go to Chicago on April 16, pay attention to any construction delays and such. It would be good to know what to plan or expect when we go back on April 20. By the way, still haven't gotten any response from Neal - there could be a variety of reasons.
