Funded!

We did it. We got my newest book, STARSLAM RETURNS, funded! It kept chugging along, unstoppable. We did it.

I'm beyond excited for everything to come. A lot of older fans came back and got some of the bigger rewards right away. We got a nice collection of new folks checking things out. Its amazing to watch unfold. Absolutely what I wanted!

Now of course, we have the STRETCH GOALS to shoot for. Add on pages, bookmarks, pinups, centerfolds and so much more. We have 15 more days in the campaign and everything is far from over. I know we will achieve so much more and everyone will take home a bunch of stuff from this thing. I cannot wait to pack those mailers with all the stuff... ALL THE THINGS! Treat yourself. You deserve it!

On a personal level, to see another STARSLAM adventure funded is beyond anything I can put into words. What started as a rejected comic pitch at 2008 San Diego Comic Con has now turned into my biggest indie comic franchise. I can't even keep up with it. Without realizing I was doing it, I have built a rich universe of stories and characters to draw from for the story. There is so much more to do in my head and I cannot wait to get to the future adventures. It seems weird for me to pause and remember this one, as its been in my head for so long before this. To finally see it snowballing and supported like this, is just wonderful. Thank you for helping me bring it to life!

There is much work to be done. Colors are being done as we speak. I am finishing up the final pages and getting them inked and scanned. This is going to be the best of them all, I can feel it. You're going to love it.

PLEASANT LIFE 2 PROGRESS!

Hey friends! Its the Xmas season!

My tree is ready for the cats to destroy and then house the presents for my loved ones!

Meanwhile, I am busy making the comics still! Especially at my PATREON PAGE - Where I am doing some more erotica monthly comics and even offering my Patrons there to suggest a sexy sketch all this month that I will do as a bonus! If that is your thing, come on over and join us! It helps fund the content that I do for FREE!

But work is really ramping up on PLEASANT LIFE 2! Here are some pages I've been sharing via social media:

I have many more that I have finished. And its actually getting a lot of likes and attention via my Instagram... more than my usual postings of cats and nerdy finds and purchases. Check it out:

Usually when I post pics of my cats with the hashtags, I get some likes but never this many! To get this many on my new comic pages for a comic that is not my big ticket "money maker" feels awesome. And I gotta say working on it... it is even better than awesome. Its going better than I expected. I haven't drawn these folks in action in a long time. I didn't know what it would be like. Right now its like being on a bike again. I remember things. I am hitting the beats and angles I want. In my head I am in the scenes, putting the music in and what is being said. Its like the old days again. Drawing these guys is where I am most comfortable, to be honest. I love STARSLAM, the erotica and ANNA, but these guys... they are my first born babies. I missed them. I NEED to get this story done and told. I simply need to. Its been too long. I've neglected them. I'm letting the scenes play out and I am just going with it. Onward!

Anyway, BUSY month for me. I just finished a big card set for KISS and now I am hip deep in Patreon and PLEASANT LIFE stuff. Plus a massive amount of overtime at the day job. No rest for the wicked.

ADAM GO CRAZY!!!
Anyway, stay safe out there my friends. Things are rolling like snowballs down the hill and I can't wait to dingle my snowballs in all of your faces!

Later on!

Finally! A look at STARSLAM 2!!!!

Hello my friends! I keep promising and now I am delivering. I am now gonna show off some preview pics (mostly spoiler free) of my graphic novel sequel to STARSLAM! STARSLAM was my most successful pre-ordered comic to date and the Kickstarter I ran for it last year far exceeded my initial expectations. Feedback was great and I know people are excited for the sequel. I got about 50 pages left to pencil and ink and it is in various stages of coloring. But I have teased for a while that there would come a day where I would share pics of progress on the book.... and that day is today!

So here we go. Mostly spoiler free and enjoy! (somewhat NSFW, but I tried to clean up the naughty bits.)

Man Superior has a special journey this time around. Kneel before... Zod? hmm... who???

Honestly, wait until this one is colored! (Hint: That ain't blood!)

Hey! I want a Starslam action figure mint in the box!!!! (Far right corner)

A first peek at a new character for the team. She's got a story to tell, that's for sure!

Another day, another Monster fight!

Starslam getting into trouble again!

Man Superior: He's on the case!

Foxclaw and the newbie doing some research...

A scene in an adult bookstore? What kind of book is this?!?!

Oh yeah Starslam! You go girl!
Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. I gotta get back to slinging lead and inks on these pages. Stay tuned!!!!

POTHOLES, PROGRESS and APPEARANCES!

Hello my friends! Just thought I'd post a nice Friday update so you can head into your weekend with good spirits and know that I am right along with you. I started drawing some commissions this week. I got them mostly done too! I would share them, but my printer is on the fritz. I need an ink cartridge or else it won't let me scan! And they tend to run around $30, which I don't have currently, so they will have to wait a bit. But it felt good to sit down and have a night of art progress. I got 11 Starslam books sketched and I did three commissions of an adults only nature. I'll share in the proper Deviantart website when my scanner will let me!

I'm gearing up for my first public appearance for the year this weekend! I'll be at the MSU COMICS FORUM again this Saturday from 11-5pm.

I will be set up in the artist alley once again along with many of my pals from the Michigan area. I'll have copies of my ARTBOOK, PLEASANT LIFE, ANNA POCALYPSE and maybe some STARSLAM if you ask nicely! I'll have art cards, original art and I will be taking commissions at the show and pre-orders. For info on where the show is, visit the official website HERE - They run a great show there and showcase a lot of local and indie talent. Come on out and support great comics and those who make them!

Later in the year, I am going to be a featured guest at the GRASP EXPO in Grand Rapids in late June so keep an eye out for that. Details will be worked out but its looking like I will be conducting a panel there. Not sure what about yet but we'll work out the details and I'll share the info with you fine folks. Just keep the idea of going in your mind. I'm likely going to do only one more show maybe later in the year, also FREE COMIC BOOK DAY somewhere. But all that has to be worked out yet. I'll let you know when I know!

So business is slowly returning to normal around here. I got some big things happening this weekend. Some things I'm really looking forward to. Good things all around! It feels good to get out there and see my old friends and make new ones! Saturday will for sure be an exciting day for me for several reasons.... I Can't wait!

In health news, I stepped into a pothole in a dark parking lot a couple nights ago and twisted my foot a bit. It really, really hurts! I missed a day of work due to it and I had to work yesterday with it at both jobs. I was in absolute agony at the first job. Luckily at the second one, I could sit down a lot. That helps. To make myself feel better, I baked myself some more banana bread. YUMMY! I got most of today off, so I am going to pack my old gear bag (been a while since I've used it!) and relax my foot. Hopefully its on the mend even more today and I'll rest up as much as I can. Stupid potholes!!

Its negative 25 degrees here in Lansing, Michigan after wind chill factor. Its been a goddamn cold February so far!  My space heater is getting a work out, thats for sure!

Anyway, just a general update on whats going on. Come out to the MSU COMICS FORUM this Saturday!!! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Cheers, T

Mind Sauce at 10pm

A blog to fill the void.

The Morning Show contest is over. I have recorded my 300th episode and have uploaded it. Thanks to everyone who listen and who entered. It means the world to me that you keep coming back to the podcast and to here, and still care about what I have to say to the world. I hope I entertain you for the brief periods that I am reaching out to you with these things.

I have been emerging from my long summer of woe and I am now creating in the vaccuum again. I know in the end I can emerge next year with new books and a few appearances here and there. But once again it feels lonely. Also coupled with the fact that the wife is gone out of town for the last few and the next few weeks for job training. Man this new company is thorough! And I was told that if she was promoted again to the store manager position that they train them in Arkansas for 12 weeks. Yikes. All for the greater good.

The kids are doing great and Scott seems to be improving with his writing. Cooperation, not so much. Potty training is still an issue. James meanwhile is kicking ass at everything. He says 5-6 word sentances now and its a weird thing to have a kid around who talks and interacts. I'm glad I have that now, even though at times it can be too much. He is so genuinely curious and creative. He creates things on my walls in crayon. Yippie.

All I have before me are plans. Various notes and quick napkin sketches I've made during my "down time" for when I knew I would emerge from the depression cave and into the productive cave. It is quite overwhelming. BUT- a good feeling, to know that I didn't lose the idea that I WOULD emerge. I WOULD come back to it all. I dabbled here and there with things, but nowhere near my usual schedule. I still am not up to 100%. This new life has me adjusting things all over. But I am coping. I'm still in this race.

The dieting is going well. I am now on solid water only and loving it. For a long time I was putting these KoolAid singles packets in every bottle. But today I downed 4 things of water. I'm trying out some various hot teas as well. I'm starting daily treadmill work. Dropping 30 pounds in 3 months is a solid start. But I had the geniune health scare this week and my dizziness continues. Its not so bad today though. I am working on getting my blood pressure numbers back to normal range. It will be an ongoing battle, one I am determined to win.

I got the 2015 and beyond plans written down and a personal goal timeline to do. Off to do it. Thanks for caring folks. I'll be back!

Cheers, T

A bit of a Facelift

Hey everyone! If you notice the main page of Idiothead.com, you'll see there's been a few changes. First of all I redrew the old logo (see above) with a bit of an update. I changed all the buttons too. But the BIG change is that the ADULTS ONLY section is now gone. This is in preperation for the eventual launch of STARSLAM as a stand alone digital project somewhere down the road. For now, I have replaced that area with a link to refocus some attention on my podcasts, more specifically my IDIOTHEAD MORNING SHOW PODCAST - So there's all that.

I hope you dig the new changes. Have a great week and weekend. The wife's bday is this weekend and so I plan to stay busy and spending time with family and friends.

Many cheers, T

A Thanks and a Check in

Hey everyone. I'm here for a quick check in.

I've re-read my last blog post a few times now and I realize that perhaps parts of it just read a bit too on the nose of depression and sadness than I intended. I guess when I free form type as I do, I really get things out raw and at times, that can be quite intense. Sometimes even ambigious as to actual intent and severity. But I have recieved your messages, your notes, your calls, etc. I appreciate all of your support and understanding. I really, really do. Its great to know you are all at my back.

But rest assured, I am okay. Things are progressing. I sold off my last APs and I am clear of all commission work that was clouding my progress. I spent some time vegging out just watching M*A*S*H re-runs and playing with the kids. I went to my new job's orientation this week and I should be starting soon. I am really looking forward to it. I also had a minor victory where someone I have been chasing for over two years for some money owed finally paid me! Of course, its just sitting in my paypal account until I can solve all this hacker BS that happened last week. (UGH) But things are on the up and up.

I even got out of the house and got a bit of work done on my own like the good old days. I cannot describe how good that felt. It was like I reconnected with a bit of my old self again. I tapped into something I had forgotten. And it made me search my brain even deeper. What do I want? How do I want it? Now that I got the cobwebs identified and I am clearing them from my mind with the magic sweeper, the world is my oyster. I know what I don't need in my life and I am working on defeating those demons. I am also down 10 pounds in 15 days on this new diet. My health is improving. My skills are returning. I'm starting to feel like "me" again, and not this defeated, old slug that ignores what his true calling is. I'm not saying I'm all healed at all. I still have a long ways to go. But I've taken my first steps back into myself and I and enjoying what I still remember. And I am confident in my perceptions now that I was right all along. It was me that clouded my judgement and now its me that will undo the damage I've done.

I know what I want, when I am going to do it and how I am going to do it. But most importantly, do I care about the outcome when I do it?

No. I don't. For the first time in a long time, I don't. I don't give a fuck. Because what I want is for me and me alone.

SO: Whats next? No timetable folks. I'm not making promises here. I'm still on a sabbatical from all external forces that got in my goddamn way and sent me on the downward spiral in the first place. I'm back to being a bit selfish. I'm back to doing things that make me happy. I'm back to finishing things how and when I want them done. And when they are ready, they will be ready. I'll let you know. But I'm not allowing external forces, or myself, (especially myself) to get in the way again. I'm taking my life back. I'll finish what I gotta finish, and when its due and in my own good time. Trust me, you'll get everything I promised and more.... and sooner than you think.

I'm slowly reconnecting with my old self again. Its been a long time and I am glad to see I didn't wander too far away. And I had a great conversation with him tonight. Might I provide a screenshot? Why the fuck not....

Hello old friends. Come on in and lets talk....

The Days Slip By...

Its been a while since I posted a non-business-y blog here so I thought I'd write to everyone a bit.

First of all, the looks at the site and the downloads of the Morning Show podcast have been steadly increasing. I thank all of you for coming out and also staying interested. Even in the downtime of me not releasing anything new, I try to keep good content coming like podcasts, blogs, daily FB and Twitter posts. So thanks. I will be retooling the sit a bit soon and making an all new COMMISSIONS and ORIGINAL ART SALES section. Also promoting my FB and Twitter links more. Give me some time on that. But I appreciate the attention. So much on the net is trying to gain your interest but you keep coming back. I thank you. I'll always continue to keep up my end of the bargain.

Today we went and picked up our cat Jake's ashes. I couldn't help but get a big lump in my throat upon seeing the tin its in, which finally developed into a bit of tears when I got home. I guess it sort of cements the reality a bit more in my head. See, I wasn't here the day we had to put him down. So its always sorta felt like he was simply upstairs sleeping somewhere. Other than the little reminders of him not coming down at 7pm on the dot asking for food or rubbing on my legs when I did put the food down, it just felt like he was here. But now its more of a "reality" that he's not. That sucks. Its one week now, to the day that he's been gone.

Mostly its been out of my mind. I've been keeping busy with laundry, deep cleaning things around the house, rearranging my office a bit. I haven't got much work done beyond some small commission stuff. I am hoping to get into a rhythm this weekend of solid production on my own stuff. I got a list growing a mile long and I am tired of the distractions.

I've taken some slow personal time to listen to podcasts to keep me laughing. I watched some Tom Baker Doctor Who and finally sat down to watch Iron Man 3. I missed it in the theater. I still haven't seen Godzilla (2014) and don't really have the drive to go to the theater to go see a flick. I've just been on autopilot really. The thoughts on my mind about the things I need to work on that I learned at C4 have got my brain in a good place. I know what I got to do, now its just a matter of doing it.

Things are on the rise. My step-mom's cancer is shrinking, so that is great news. I'm almost sold out of my new print run of Pleasant Life books. Those commissions I have done have come out quite satisfactory and I apply for new gigs daily. My head is in the game and I am doing it. I got my goals set and a plan in motion. I simply just have to put the car into gear and hit the gas pedal. It will happen. It always does.

One thing I want to do immediately is do a quick kids' book about Jake. I already got the style and plot laid out. A simple 12 page thing resembling a kids' book. Maybe put it together and sell it as an all ages book at the shows. All my life I dealt with my problems through my comics. Mom's death was in Pleasant Life, Milo was in Anna Pocalypse... and certainly Jake will be no different. Its theraputic for me to do so. So I hope you enjoy it when its done. Soon. Very soon. It will be good for me to do that, I think.

As we approach mid-year, I reflect back on 2014 and what a bummer of a year its been. From the very beginning of January with my dad's heart attack, crap winter, step mom's cancer, James' surgery, money woes, freelance struggles, lack of shows, lack of sales, Jake's death and other stuff... its just been a weird 6 months. But there's also been some great times. The wife and I get to get out of the house once in a while now. We've made some great new friends. We spend time together now and I still am improving on my work. Plus I got all my books back in print and our Kickstarter was funded. Its been equally as good. I don't focus on the negative all the time. I am fully aware of what is going right for me too. And we've got nowhere to go but up. Onward and Upward as I always say.

Thanks all for caring and the emails/messages you all have sent. They mean the world to me. But we're okay. We're rockin'. Pedal to the metal. You'll get a lot from me very soon. You haven't seen anything yet.

Cheers, T

COMMISSION CHANGES and other stuff

Hey all! Some quick thoughts and announcements. Very soon I shall be changing my commission rates. I will keep them what they are currently at on my Online Store ($30-80 depending on size) for a little bit, maybe another week or so, but then they will be going up. So if you want to take advantage of the cheaper price and need something done, best to jump on it now.

Also, from this point forward, I WILL NOT be doing commissions at conventions. I will do sketches in personal sketchbooks for fees, but as far as ordering a 8x11 or 11x17 piece at the shows, I will not be doing that from now on. Why? I decided that its not fair to do art at conventions. My attention is not 100% focused on your piece and therefore am not giving you my best work. If you approach me at a show and ask for a commission, I will take your info and give you mine. We can contact after the show and work it all out at that point. But to hand me cash and expect me to do a good piece within a day for you, I feel for me, is unfair. Also at the shows, I am there to sell my wares (prints, books, etc). Its all business. The artist hat is best left at home where I can focus and concentrate on giving you the best. So in reality, its better for you!

Exceptions: When I announce a PRE-ORDER before a show. You contact me and I do the piece at my office before the show and you pick it up at the show. or if you are at the show and have a sketchbook that you want a drawing in. Then I shall do something in it, priced according to its needs and content.

SO: If you want to take advantage of the current and lower rates, you can buy via my online store right HERE - Rates will go up within a week or two. I will be retooling my online store when its done.

_____________

STARSLAM updates will be sporatic for the next couple months. At the end of this current chapter, I am leaving the strips up for a bit and then taking them down permanantly. Why? Because I will be recoloring the strips, fixing minor mistakes and launching a major kickstarter to fund a fully digital version of the book in completion. The entire story (all 130 pages or so) will be available on this Kickstarter. I also will have incentives like original art, a big bonus erotica sketchbook, erotica stories, unpublished erotica short stories and other things. All that has to be ironed out in the weeks to come, but for now we're busy fixing it all up and getting it ready. Bare with me. But please enjoy the strips while they are up.

_____________
CONVENTIONS/APPEARANCES: The only thing on my radar currently is the upcoming DETROIT FANFARE, which I understand shall be making an announcement as far as a date soon. If that doesn't work, I might consider another show. But I am not super concerned about it at this point.
_____________

ANNA POCALYPSE SEQUEL: After STARSLAM is done and launched I am going full speed ahead on Anna 2. I still have a lot of art done for the book, but its just a matter of picking it back up and continuing on. I plan on having it ready for con season next year. I know people have been asking for it. Its coming!

_____________

SKETCH CARDS: I do have APs available for the following sets:
--Pinups and Pitbulls
--Contemporary Pinups (puzzle cards)
--Bianca Thompson's Dead Divas
All are available and most of them are blank and can be commissioned. Simply EMAIL ME HERE to inquire about them.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Cherry Capital Con Exclusive Print!

Here it is! The first official look at a print we're having this weekend at CHERRY CAPITAL CON! Its a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle print done by me and my buddies Sherief and Daniel. I pencilled most of it and did Raphael and Michelangelo. Sherief did Leo, inked most of it, some more of the background characters and colored the whole thing. Daniel did the Donatello. It came out super sweet and I am excited about it. Each of us will have 10 copies only of this print at our tables. So there's only a total of 30 in existence. The ONLY way to get it is to be at Cherry Capital Comic Con this weekend from one of us. Yet another reason to make plans to go to the show!!

I am beyond excited about the show. I desperately need a vacation and a con trip. Looking forward to it very much. Please make plans to come out and see all of us. Its going to be a happening.

See ya there!

I'll have ALL my books (Anna, Pleasant Life, Artbook, Mayhem 3) and new prints, print cards, original art, cards and more. But first, HERE IS THE LINK to find out info about the show.

But if you go to the show and want to find me, here is a map of the show floor and where I shall be set up:

I'm putting in a last call for commissions you can pre-order and pick up from me at the show. Only way to guarantee you will get your sketch done for sure. I do 1-2 characters 8x11 for $20, 11x17 for $40, add $10 for color to both. Simply EMAIL ME HERE and lets make it happen.

YEAR SO FAR... PROJECT UPDATES

Time to assess where we are at and do some updating on where things are so far for the year!

CONVENTIONS: Upcoming is CHERRY CAPITAL CON May 23-25th. After that there is a possibly of a return to Detroit or Grand Rapids. I am not ruling out maybe one other midwest type of show sometime in the year. But we'll see. I'd like to hit a couple Michigan based comic shops and have store signings and move some of these books. Once things die down, I'll make plans.

PLEASANT LIFE: the 475 page collection is out and you can order it HERE - It collects EVERYTHING from the series and has tons of bonus material including a new exclusive 7 page story. There is no immediate plans for a follow up but maybe some day down the road.

ANNA POCALYPSE: The reprint/new cover/recolor version is out and available HERE - The sequel has 70 pages of art done and will be worked on/completed later on this year for launch in 2015. Next year there will be a BIG PUSH to sell Anna 1-2. Look out!

STARSLAM: Currently on 65 pages posted. And here is the big news: After this current chapter goes up, there will be no more updates, as I am going to be pulling the pages down (eventually) and recoloring them. Then I am finishing colors on the rest of the pages and launching them into a kickstarter. Friends and fellow artists are having great success launching adult related comics on Kickstarter and I believe it might be a great chance to get Starslam into the hands of more people that way. So look for that this fall launching as an all digital book and a chance to get some art or MAKE some art yourself! So big news on this front! Expect much more soon...

TALES OF SEQUENTIAL MAYHEM: Book #3 just got back from the printer and Kickstarter orders are being mailed out. After the smoke clears, I will have copies to sell in the store and at conventions but give me time to sort out the Kickstarter orders first. We will be doing a #4 in the future and doing it once again through Kickstarter.

PORN BOOK: Two chapters still need to be written but has taken a back seat to paid work and getting my comic books back in the online store. But I will get time soon to sit down and complete it. Once then, I shall edit it and do touch ups. Then decide how I want to publish it. Find a company to do it for me? Launch it through Kickstarter? Self Publish through Lulu? Its all up in the air. We'll see where the winds blow me at that point.

MORNING SHOW PODCAST: still continues! Just posted episode #235 today. Download via Itunes. Also enjoy the resurgence of other old podcasts on Talkshoe like Tim's Late Night Lounge and Studio Chatter. All available on Itunes.

IDIOTHEAD MUSIC: Believe it or not, I got an email recently about the possibility of new music coming from our comedy band. As of this time, there are no plans. However you never know what the future holds.

YOU TUBE CHANNEL: I will be uploading new videos at some point. Plenty of footage for various things has been shot. Just need time to sort it all and edit it. I'll probably take more videos at Cherry Captial Con too. Give me time.

SKETCHCARDS: No new sets due at this point. Once Pinups/Pitbulls is out and Sherlock Holmes Memoirs is released, I have nothing on the horizon for more card work. Possibly more in the future but we shall see.

So... that gives a nice update as to where we are going. Things are rockin' and rollin! Thanks for checking back and caring.

Cheers, T

FREE COMIC DAY RECAP

Hey all! Whew what a day! I spent my 9:30am-4pm all day at Clems Comics in downtown Lansing for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! This was my third year in a row and I always love coming out. Everyone is always very welcoming and nice and the kids are excited to get sketches and comics.

I was so busy at the show that I really didn't get to take many photos but I grabbed some from some friends. Here are some pics courtesy of my pals Cristen and Nick:

Again, a wonderful time. Thanks to all who came out to support local comic shop businesses and independent artists! Your money spent is more than just about buying a little cool thing to have. Its also putting food on my kids' table and keeping my lights on. I thank you. Also to Clem's Comics for allowing me back year after year and putting on a damn fun time. They really take care of us artists and we appreciate it. It was great to see friends new and old. Also a great pal dropped me off some great vinyl! YAY!

SO: With that, I have lots of materials to restock for my next trip: CHERRY CAPITAL COMIC CON on May 23-25th in Traverse City, MI. I got a couple new prints to finish coloring and do up for the show and other things. Also, I have got a slew of commission work lately, which is great. The wife and I talked about the recent murmurings of me possibly getting a part time night job. But with the increase in sales and freelance work, its now a reality that I am prolonging that decision. You guys all really came to my aid and I cannot thank you enough. Right now I have a huge TO DO list that is going to take me the rest of the month and thats great! My bills are getting paid and I am very happy! Thank you, Thank you!

In other news, I got my TALES OF SEQUENTIAL MAYHEM books and my PLEASANT LIFE books back from the printer! So I am filling out preorders and kickstarter orders and they will be going out next week. Bare with me as I got a ton of stuff going on. But I am looking over the books and goddamn don't they look dope as hell! THANK YOU for the support! and if you haven't ordered Pleasant Life, you can right HERE

Whew... okay.. I know I got a million other things to say but I am exhausted. Better cut this one short. Have a great weekend!

Cheers, T

New Stuff and Goings On

Hey everyone! Some new copic samples for ya. Mostly Doctor Who related.

This week I re-submitted ANNA POCALYPSE to Ka-Blam. Reason being when my books were shipped, a couple of them were damaged in the package. Also one of the narration fonts was not embedded and came out different. Its not too bad but they offered to reprint the entire order for me for free if I sent them new files. So I took advantage of the situation and went back on the advice of the podcast review I got last week from GEEK LIFE and played a bit with the hue saturation on the pages. So the colors are a bit dimmer and not so "on the nose" as it was in the first print run. Also fixed a couple minor things such as a few right eyes being too high on the page, again on their suggestion. SO, I should have those redux issues in the next couple weeks. However, they are letting me keep these previous ones, so the book is still available. Not to say the version I have is bad at all, so don't worry. I'm just glad Ka-blam is being cool about it. And now I can make the colors somewhat "match" what will come in ANNA 2. The color pallate in ANNA 2 will be much different than ANNA 1. Because I've learned a lot in the years since I first published the book. You'll see.

Meanwhile, I am working on new pieces for con season and maybe a couple new print ideas. I will be giving away free prints to anyone who buys books at my table. Also gearing up for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY on May 3rd at Clem's Comics in downtown Lansing, MI. I will be at the table from 11-2pm at least and possibly a bit after. Come see me!

We did some spring cleaning around the house and did a crapload of laundry. My oldest son came to visit and we had a great time as well. Now life returns to normal and I am busy trying to score new clients for commission work to keep me afloat. Things have sorta got slow in this first quarter and book sales are sorta so-so as well. Now that I got Mayhem at the printer and off my plate, plus the reprints of Anna, Pleasant Life and I got the Artbook done, I can focus on everything else now. Prints, new art pieces, coloring better, Starslam pages, and then finally ANNA 2! And somewhere in there finish this Porn Store book. (Also for the fans of the ADULT section of Idiothead.com, I am planning more PORN WORLD WEEKLY strips. Just give me time on them, thanks.)

SO: Shit is crazy around here. Lets keep up the pace and keep crack-a-lackin!

Cheers, T

ANNA POCALYPSE Reviewed on Indie Comics Podcast!

For those who want to hear a great, great, GREAT and deeply in depth review of my graphic novel, ANNA POCALYPSE, check out this great audio from the Geek Life Podcast! Available on Itunes to subscribe or listen to it on their site right HERE - The guys dissected the hell out of the books, stating what they liked, didn't like, what could be improved and more! Probably the most in depth review I have ever had. A solid hour of talking about little ol' me and this fun book I put together. WOW! I really appreciate the time they put into this review. Beyond awesome!

And if you are new here and listened to their podcast and came here, THANK YOU!!! And feel free to order a copy of Anna Pocalypse and see preview pages right HERE

In other news, I am doing sketches in books ordered online. Today I did a TNG Zombie themed sketch for someone in my Artbook:

If you don't have a copy of the ARTBOOK, order one now right HERE - All books ordered from my store gets a FREE SKETCH inside!!

The wife is on vacation and the kids are on Spring Break, so this week the house will be full and we'll see how sick we can get of each other! I hope the weather stays nice and we can all get some spring cleaning done around here. Its raining today, but the snow is nice and melted away. I am also going to start packing up artwork to sell on the site and at conventions that are coming up.

And I got my time for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY set up at Clem's Comics in Downtown Lansing. Its the first Saturday in May from 11-2pm. Its possible I will be there beyond that time, but I am guaranteed to be there at least during then. I'll have copies of my books, prints, cards, sketches and original art. I will take commissions at the show but its best to order one ahead of time and pick it up at the show. To order one, simply EMAIL ME HERE and request what you want and pay ahead of time, then pick it up from me there. I mostly do quick sketches for kids on FCBD only and it does get busy so time might get away from me to take on too much there. So best to order ahead of time. But I am looking forward to it! Clems Comics always takes great care of us!

Lastly, Don't forget Cherry Capital Con in Traverse City, MI on May 23-25th. I'll be there all weekend.

Thanks folks! Now go listen to that ANNA review!!

Cheers, T

Comics Mayhem!!!

Hey everyone! Well, our Kickstarter for our EC HORROR comics tribute "TALES OF SEQUENTIAL MAYHEM" was a sweet success! We got officially funded yesterday and then some. So I am putting the finishing touches on the files before they go to the printer today and tomorrow. Here's a look at a color version of a pinup of "ZOMBIE QUEEN" I did for the book. It appears as a fake ad for a drive in movie:

Zombies are lead by her boobs!

I've been pencilling new STARSLAM strips and I uploaded Chapter 5 to the site. So we're good until July. Its looking likely that I will get all the original art done before that too. So I am thinking by the fall time I will have a full book for that comic in the online store here. I've done too many book plugs this early part of the year so I don't want to drop that on you now. Besides, we got our SUPER ONLINE BOOK SALE going on right now. Don't want to get any of my books lost in the mix as we go along.

So this makes FOUR books published by me this year. With a FIFTH one promised around the fall. Eh? What cha think? Aren't we the hardest working indie comic people out there right now? :) Its all for me celebrating 20 years of doing this, this year. I love this life!

In non-pluggy type of news, I've been working my way through Band of Brothers and re-watching Game of Thrones with the wife. Almost done with the first show. Its quite good. I also have been moving around furniture and I am ready to get a big box and start tossing crap. The weather outside is hot and then cold here in Michigan, but I am forcing spring to hurry up via doing some hardcore cleaning and moving. I moved the living room and office around a bit. Hopefully the kids stay out of my books because they are now at a level where they can tamper with them. They are gonna hear a lot of "NOs" from me!

I've also been reading some of the comics I've bought recently and forgot I read or giving them a fair shake read on the toilet (as I often do). All New X-men, Batman, The Dirty Pair, Empowered, Invincible, 90's Prophet, Soul Saga and others. I also finally got my buddy Jay Fosgitt's Bodie Troll trade. I gotta make a list of the comics and trades I am missing. And I am trying to finish Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but with all the work I am getting done, I don't have much time to sit and read a book like I did. Hopefully soon I'll get ahead of where I need to be and then I can slack off some more to read some new shit.

As far as vinyl, I haven't picked up too many new records. The most recent aquirements are Pearl Jam Vitology, Def Leppard's Pyromania and Saxon Denim and Leather. I did order White Zombie's Astro Creep 2000 and it should come in soon. Record Store Day is coming up and I got my eye on that Type O Negative record. I scored tickets to see Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden for the summer as well. Finally going to scratch those bands off my list.

I suppose thats enough updating for now. Be sure that you are keeping up with my PODCAST for additional news and talkingzzzz. Much love to you all!
